(editor's note: so I know some of you may have drawn a comparison by the timing to smokeysis and her Reporter series, which while it has just started I'd say is excellent and should definitely be seen first (first part linked here: www.deviantart.com/smokeysis/a… ). Now this particular caption series was written a good month ago in full (as well as the next two multi-part follow-ups which I'll be posting steadily every few days here), but given that the community is small and I'm relatively new to it, I just figured I'd like this preemptively there as I don't want there to be any drama. Plus, this story will go off in a very different direction - for me, the modern-day journalism piece is more connective tissue to the larger points about social media and stepfordization that I'm trying to make.
