Nice picy, I like unicorns. I'd only use as a reference and try drawing my own in my own style. I look at other peoples' art for ideas and inspiration.

Do you also do custom line arts?? My best friend and I are working on a writing project and desperately need good profile sketches for our unicorn charrys to help keep us motivated. I can color them, but I can't draw equines anywhere near good enough! >.< Our chars are primarily based on the Andalusian, Friesian, Anglo-Arab and Classic Morgan breeds. I have ref pics

I take commissions for actual cash, but I don't draw requests/customs for free. Eventually I hope to have the time and inspiration to add more free-to-use lineart, so if an actual commission isn't what you had in mind, something you can use might come along that way. And since small edits are allowed, you can always put a horn on any of the existing linearts if you want.

No problem there, I just need to figure out how many characters I can afford to have done, lol What would an individual CM lineart cost in US dollars, on average?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kholran In reply to IrThumper [2012-09-24 01:28:05 +0000 UTC]

I usually start at $10 for something simple, like a side-on standing/walk/trot/canter, and go up from there depending on complexity, add-ons (nothing extra for a unicorn horn, but things like wings or tack would add a little), and/or background scenery.

Ok great! I'll look up which chars we want done and round up the refs so we can figure out the specs. Are your comissions open now or is there a wait time until they are?

Kholran In reply to IrThumper [2012-09-25 02:30:45 +0000 UTC]

I have some spots open now. Please do make sure any references are stock photos, or that they come with the photographer's permission to use them as references. I don't use anything copyrighted as a reference without having permission first

IrThumper In reply to Kholran [2012-09-25 22:11:09 +0000 UTC]

Ok I'm not actually looking for a duplication of the pics themselves but just using them as a general ref as to breed type/conformation, which is a bit different scenario. Would you be able to look at a pic(s) of a particular breed then be able to draw a completely unique lineart (different from that portrayed in the pic) so there's no worries about CRI? If not I'll be sure to find pics with the proper permissions, most of mine were saved in a Word Doc eons ago so no idea of their origins >.<

Kholran In reply to IrThumper [2012-09-26 03:56:54 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I can do that. Just specify the breed/type, and what sort of pose you're going for, and I can take it from there.

IrThumper In reply to Kholran [2012-09-26 12:07:11 +0000 UTC]

Awesome! Do you have a specific limit of how many linearts you can do for a person at one time? and do you do them only one to a page or can you do two to a page? Of course my wallet will dictate how many I can do at one time anyway as well... lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kholran In reply to IrThumper [2012-09-27 00:33:54 +0000 UTC]

They're all digital, so it's one lineart per file, in whatever format you prefer (png, jpg, psd, etc). I don't really have a limit, as long as it's a reasonable number (15 would be reasonable, 150 would not lol).

IrThumper In reply to Kholran [2012-09-27 07:36:39 +0000 UTC]

Ok, sounds good! Yeah I'll say... and at 150 linearts I'd be flat broke, lol! I'll work up my final list and get that to you asap. Oh do you take PayPal?? I have an acct so will be good to go once I figure out how many chars I need linearts for

Kholran In reply to IrThumper [2012-09-28 02:13:14 +0000 UTC]

Yes, Paypal is great. Just shoot me a Note when you've got a list together.

I haven't forgotten this, lol I just started a writing course and things have been nuts here lately... I'm still arranging who to have done but I think we've got it figured out now. Still trying to decide how one of my best friend/co-author's mares should look (she's wanting a Throughbred or Andalusian body type, running) so we'll see what she ultimately decides, heh. Will get the note and specs to you within the next couple of days or so, hopefully by the weekend. Thanks again!

Are we allowed to do smaller changes to the lineart? Like, make a different mane and tail, for example?
