MORE RWBY WEAPON DESIGNSSSSSSS!let me point out I DESPISEEEE guns ("BUT KIBA GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE! PEO"-YEAH THEY FOOKIN DO BUDDY!!)
I already explained everything with these concepts in the Fan-Khukri comments, so I'll let the picture just speak for itself.
What I can say is, i probably based this alot off of Yang's Gauntlets, design wise, since tonfa's arent necessarily large like Crescent Rose

It's majorly a Tonfa, so it can be used for thrusting, defending, and bashing. So it's able to be used just like a club or nightstick.

Revton (Revolver-Tonfa, since that does look like a revolver)

But I added the text at like 1 am, and at that time Β just about anything that wasn't too long sounded good to me. I do admit Pis-ton I do like a lot still.Β

Only Issue is that I know little to nothing about guns, so I wasn't sure what would sound appropriate

Well the name could change depending on the character.Β
A character who is a badass who has a penchant for humor might nickname a desert eagle "Daisy" or something.
Whereas someone who would rather be showy or flashy might name it something over the top like "Devil's Bane"
Vincent from Final Fantasy had a 3 barreled gun called Cerberus.Β
What you could do, is call it a PisTon Model: (insert number here)
And then give it a nickname.

Most gun names are the company that makes it, or the specs of the gun.
The nicknames however, are more personal. This is a fictional gun, as is the character, so to name the gun, you'd want to go into the character's mind and see what they would name such a weapon.Β
I have a character named Chris Korin. He has a handgun he calls "Dorothy."Β
He's a captain of a Spec.Ops Law Enforcement agency, and he is a very by-the-books kind of badass who tries to seem very nonchalant. So he picked an innocent sounding name. Who fears "Dorothy?" Β Nobody (yet.) Β But he'll make it scary real quick.Β

Oh I do plan on just having the model be called Pis-ton..Numbers Im too frightened of with guns to try giving one to my customs. Also because it's not just a gun.Β
As far as nicknames go, this was a one time thing for a friends character. This by no means says I wont use this concept again, but this particular design (color wise) is for her character mostly. So Its up to her regarding the nickname.Β
