I saw Les Mis on tour last week, and IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely loved it. So i've been in a Mizzy mood lately. And so, this was born....somehow.... It isn't based on any actors or anything in real life. Kind of a combination of several. I hope you like it. I thought it would be cool to have Valjean looking down, because those are the first lyrics he sings with the rest of the ensemble in the beginning. ("Look down, look down, don't look 'em in the eye...") And in contrast, Javert is looking up (at the "stars, in your multitudes!") And I have Valjean in his Monsieur le Maire costume even though the background is the barricade, because I feel that those were the two scenes (Who Am I and Bring Him Home) where the Valjean I saw performed the best. Just a disclaimer type thing - I didn't actually paint the barricade. It's a screenshot from a tour trailer than I recolored and blurred a bit. I was feeling lazy.

Oh-- thanks to obsidiandawn.com for the clouds and stars brushes, and also, Les Miserables is (c) Victor Hugo, Boublil and Schonberg, aaaaand I'd also like to give credit to all the actors and techies that make the shows amazing.

EDIT: Well, I'm starting to put together my portfolio for college. I thought this should be in there, so I spent the day sort of going over it again in Photoshop. Mostly color correction, getting rid of lineart, sloppy lines, smoothing out clothes, etc. Also Javert's bridge. Yup. Anyway it looks very very different now, so I thought you guys might want to see the revised version.
