Description
A quick little cartoon of Javert from Victor Hugo's Les Miserables.*Drawn on the cardboard on the back of my sketchbook, heh. Sharpies, colored pencils and a little bit of Gimp2.

I regret not having read the book. I have an unabridged version and Hugo wrote in way that's difficult to get into. But I did see several movies and the musical. I find Javert intriguing. He's not evil, just a man blinded by his sense of duty to the law and morality. He always tried to live a lawful and moral life, and after Valjean freed him, Javert realizes that doing the lawful thing (arresting Valjean) would not be the moral thing and this dilemma, as we know, leads him to suicide.

I'm reading the unabridged version right now. I'm half way done. 
The beginning is all about the bishop, so it may be a little hard for most people to get into, but if you truck it through that section you are rewarded with juicy awesomeness, lol. (granted I loooove the bishop part)
