Description
This is a preview of my new comic book's protagonist and namesake, Hightide. The comics have been in the writing process, and are slowly moving thier way into penciled pages. I plan on doing a promo piece for local comic stores, and mid-ohio con, and they will also be available through my website.

That being said, here is a brief bio of Hightide.

Quinton Fischer is currently attending The Welcrest Institute of Ocean Science for a Bachelor’s of Science in Ocean Engineering, and works as a paid intern at Morkull Tech. There he little more than a technologies assistant developing new underwater swimming gear. Because of the bad pay, Fischer struggles to pay bills and make ends meet for his small apartment near downtown Boston. One evening at the docks Fischer was testing some experimental equipment in the water when a large ominous boat bellows into the harbor. A sudden loud explosion rocked the shore, sending him into a daze. The smoldering wreckage of the ship decimated the landscape, leaking strange chemicals into the water. Quinton awoke to discover that his body had changed. Donning a modified version of his diving suit, he swore to keep shores safe.

It's cheesy on purpose, I promise.

Powers would include:
-Enhanced physical strength and durability equal to a large sea creature
-Electroreception
-Modified wetsuit that is temperature and scratch resistant
-Modified wave boots that enable Hightide to "surf" or "skate" on land by creating and containing a wave with a sonic field.

The comic itself will reflect the lighter side of comics, harking back to the early 60's and the creation of Spiderman, Thor, Hulk and the like. I plan to incorporate 60's imagery, phrases and atmosphere into a modern setting. Cheesy and campy things will certainly happen, but with a humorous edge. With my friends Rick and Gregg co-writing, it should be hilarious and hopefully fun, yet deep at the same time. Wish us luck!
