It should work on different programs as well (except MS Paint of course, as this program has no layer function and is well....MS Paint).

There might be different names in other programs and some of the Photoshop functions could be not included, but you should be able to draw a good landscape with other programs.

Here are the "special" tools I have used for this landscape:

-self-made brushes (for texture, clouds, trees and grass)
-layers
-brightening tool (you can see it in the last picture)
-earaser
-for almost everything: normal round brush
-filters (for saturation, lights, color balance,...but this is optional)Β

So you can see that most of these functions are pretty basic. To get good lines while drawing, I can totally recommend you to use a drawing tablet. You don't need something expensive, a cheap one is enough (I have used a used tablet from Ebay for 20 Euros)Β

Here are a few programs I know, which support layers:

-Artweaver - Free Version (it was my first program and it was quite simple, free)Β
-Firealpace (easy to understand, good for beginners, not as much tools as PS, free
-Gimp (many tools, similar to PS, hard to understand)Β
-Krita (haven't used it yet, but it should be similar to Photoshop. Free)Β
-Corel Draw (a nice program with many tools, can be hard to understand at the beginning, free Demo version, full version for money)Β

I hope that this could help you and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask Β

I have tried this program on my phone and yes, it has the basic functions as layers or different brushes. The huge difficulty is that you aren't able to work on backgrounds with many details. It is rather for anime/cartoon characters, rough sketches and blurry backgrounds (like you use them in most comics).
If you want to draw detailed backgrounds and pictures with high resolution, you should either use a laptop or a computer with a drawing program. It's not that phones/tablets aren't useful for art, but it is hard to draw detailed pictures and the handling is too difficult.

I have started digital art on a tablet (not a drawing tablet, but a tablet computer) with my finger. That is the reason why I recommend you to use a computer/laptop...I know the struggles with these devices And I would lie to you, if I said that drawing on phone/tablet was easy

Thank you very much! Landscapes might be hard and "boring" at the beginning but the more you draw them, the more you will LOVE them (Sometimes I rather like it to draw landscapes instead of characters XD) You are very welcome!

Thank you ;v;
I scrapped the drawing though because I was using medibang which wasn't good for blending at all. I'm currently working on a different landscape in krita.
I think I will do that reference image again though, because it really is nice. Thank you! <3
