Description
Yay, another picture! It was really nice to do something bigger this time and to play around with effects, details and all that stuff
Here is the story:
Chapter One
This picture is for an online story.
It will become a story with illustrations, because a comic would be well...too long
(And not that I will never finish it, so single pictures would be easier)
The title of this story is "The Song of Blades" and it plays in a medieval fantasy world.
What do you think about such an idea? (Creating an online-story?)
Time needed: ~20 hours
Programm used: Photoshop CS2

This has Assassin's Creed vibes all over it. Excellent work here.

After I have finished it, it really reminded me of Edward Kenway in the Assassin's Creed 4 trailer, aswell!
Thank you very much

He just rode too fast through the city and he went through a speed control
Thank you very much
You can still try some digital art (What I have seen from you was great!)

Oh, yes! Plus he took a drink! D:
(Such a monster....... )
The first steps of drawing digital are always hard to do
When I started, I just felt like I would never be able to use a drawing programm properly and I wanted to stop it a few times, since the pictures were just...well...not good in my eyes
But I forced myself through endless hours of trainings to learn the proper use of lights and shadows, texturing and who knows for stuff XD
And I still learn today
Here is my very first free-drawn picture from head XD
(So much shame here D: Though I like the knife XD)

Dang, that's still way better than my first attempt XD I have a hard time with shading and making the lines look smooth I can do it with pencil but I'm not used to the precision of digital brushes

Nah, you haven't seen the scetches and "attempts-before-the-official-attemp" XD
The most important thing with that is to use different opacities for the colours and in some rare cases the "smudge-tool" (It is like you would use your finger, when you draw with coal or another soft pencil. Very useful if you want to have very soft shadows.)
And later you can work with layers and effects and blablabla Β
Which programm do you want to use?

The app I use is called MediBang Paint :V My friends Aurora and Sweets recommended it for a beginner like me

I have never heard of this app
But since it is an app, so you are drawing on a mobile phone or tablet (not graphic tablet)? (I have drawn on a normal tablet aswell, but the pictures were not really nice, because I draw them with the fingers and couldn't add details or anything else XD)
If you want to start, I can recommend the programm "Artweaver" or if you like, also "Gimp".
For Artweaver you can get a Demo/lite version, just search for "Artweaver Free" then. This program is easy to use and was my first program, which I have used for digital drawing
Even though it is a lite version, you are still able to draw really good and detailled pictures with a nice amount of brushes.
I have drawn this guy in Artweaver, roughly one year after my first attemps of digital drawing
So it is easy to learn and never let discourage you, because the first pictures don't look that good, I have been through this aswell
If you draw often enough, you will get used to digital programs and how they work
Β
The other program -Gimp- is similar to Photoshop, but free.
Gimp is a little bit more complicated, but not too bad and you get used to this program aswell, if you train often enough.
There are also a lot of helps in the internet, if something is not understandable or if you need help with all the fancy tools
Another really important tool is a graphic tablet, though you can use the mouse aswell. With the tablet you get a better "feeling" for the picture and drawing, also details are easier to add
You can just buy a very cheap one for the beginning, I got my first tablet from a supermarket XD
Okay, sorry for this half book, I have written XD

I'll be sure to look into those programs and see if they work for me Thanks
I might get a drawing tablet someday but I'm on a bit of a tight budget at the moment so I don't know.Β I'll just have to stick to drawing on my phone with a stylus lol

Yay, I am really excited for your first digital pictures!
And no problem
Yeah, some of them are really expensive, especially the professional ones D:
But for the first attempts a phone is useful aswell

Yay!!!!!
Firstly it should become a comic, but I fear it will end like the fanart comic, I have done maybe two years ago
(Three well-drawn pictures and then only scetches till page 100-hit-me-dead XD.....I still have not-submitted pages lying around XD)

Yeah, I wouldn't say do a comic honestly, because i did see only a few pages of the other ones. And I know you like to draw other things than just be focused on a comic, since you like to practice your art skills. I think if you took on a comic, it might take up more time than you have available already, and you wouldn't be able to practice your art as much as you'd like to. I think a story with illustrations would work well, though, and writing the story out can give you practice with your actual book!

Yeah, it is hard to stay motivated on a detailled comic
And since I can not stop to use details, I won't try one XD
The comic (or rather the scetches) were useful for training humans, movement and scenes, but it would take too long to create a single page, even if it only has like five panels D:
True! Maybe I will only write it in English, because the majority of the people are from other countries and can not speak or read German
So also a nice training for my English XD
Thank you so much for the helping words

SeanCrastien In reply to Kimberly-SC [2018-01-12 18:54:54 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I definitely understand that xD and you don't want to take forever to release a page! And yes, English would be nice so I could read it too haha, and I'd be happy to help out with the English stuff!

Kimberly-SC In reply to SeanCrastien [2018-01-12 19:38:02 +0000 UTC]
This would be mean for the watchers to only get like five pages a year XD
I am really excited and happy that you want to help me!
Sometimes I wish, I could speak English as a native speaker, but cussing in German is just too funny XD

THIS IS SOOOOO GOOOOOOODDDDD WOWWWWWWWW I LOVE IT SO MUCH I THINK IT'S DEFINITELY ONE OF YOUR BEST AAAAHHHH YOU HAVE CLEARLY PUT SO MUCH DETAIL INTO THIS AND IT LOOKS MORE REAL THAN ANY OF YOUR DRAWINGS AND THE TEXTURE IS JUST SO ON POINT AS WELL AS THE SHADING/LIGHTING AND ATMOSPHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! O.O I am just so blown away by this I can't even--wow

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUUUUUUUCH!!!!!!!!!
THOSE DETAILS JUT KILLED ME, BUT I AM HAPPY THEY TURNED OUT GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy you like this picture, it was nice to draw some interior stuff again
(Though it was a little bit hard with the perspective XD)

SeanCrastien In reply to Kimberly-SC [2018-01-12 18:33:58 +0000 UTC]
YEEE OF COURSE I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, I noticed a huge change from your normal outside backgrounds and scenes! There was definitely a stronger focus on details in this one unlike your normal drawings. Not to say that your other drawings aren't detailed because they DEFINITELY are, but this inside scene goes down to the tiniest detail for sure, and it's a clearer focus instead of more blurry or so.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kimberly-SC In reply to SeanCrastien [2018-01-12 18:40:51 +0000 UTC]
Thanks again!
Yeah, designing interior scenes is always a detail-overload, you are right
Luckily this scene was drawn at night, so I din't had to draw more guests and more bottles/shelves/etc. behind the guards XD
Firstly I tried to make a strong focus on the hooded man and the guard besides the bartender.
But when the other people and the background were that blurred, it didn't look good, rather like a drunkyard, who tried to focus on one thing Β

Yeah x) and ahh I see, but wouldn't there be more guests at night in a bar? Β I mean that's how I always picture these things to work x) and ohh yeah

Maybe this isΒ the worst inn of the whole city?
(Or they are all drunk and are lying on the ground XD Or in the garden...a person I know always diappears in a strange way, when he is drunk and then he suddenly appears again.)
