Description
This is from my startree story thinger, Stratokorona, and I also may use it as a site layout later on. We'll seeee how the colouring goes! Sketched and inked by hand. Wow, not digital? What is the world coming to! Oh yeah, I have no workstation!edit: I just realized this poor startree has no star buds on it, lol. If you have no idea what i'm talking about when I say startree, check out this older deviation for the same story I'm working on:

This tree is a badass. That's right, it's A badass.
I'd pinch the design of it for my film but that would be SUCH a dick-move and SUCH a douche-chill. Plus my film uses palm trees anyway.
But this is a really interesting looking tree and I love drawing tree leaves in a snail-shell circle style like that too!

it makes me happy for some reason! i really like the angular lines on the base of the tree, combating the very round and swirling top. it has a nice affect on the eye-balls!
i just finished a piece that i spent several months on and would love to hear your critique of it! it's called "clarity"; check it out if you get a chance!

I just adore your star trees! I notice that the branches, trunk and roots are bigger, look stronger, and show that his tree has been around a long time.
Empowering illustration! well done!

Wow it looks great. how much time did you put into it? You're right about the digital art thing lol. I personally think traditional art has more skill to it

time? hmnnn probably around 5 hours? The sketch maybe 2 and a bit, then the inks were annoying because they kept fading as I inked over the sketch so I had to go over the lines a lot. So yeah, probably around that. I'm glad you like it! And traditional art has more.. grit to it. I have more control and they always seem to come out nicer for detailed pieces like this one
