Description Acrylic painting, 227mm by 152mm.

Just wanted to make a poster for the great series for my room.

I have this unhealthy obsession with Motoko ( ive been her 4 times in my dreams now!).

Very rushed towards the end, but hope you like it.

Original piece by Randall Whiteis, thanks to GeekVarietyDotCm for pointing this out

Haha the neatness is what struck me.. I tried it once and it was actually fairly uneven :/
And no problem!

Yup acrylic is hard to blend, especially on larger paintings because it dries so quickly

This was actually a pretty large painting for me, so things didn't go so well

That's true, one thing that put me off is the way it also warped the paper :3

Still looks good though!

If you're gonna use someone elses artwork, you should generally as a rule of thumb and good etiquette, at the very least name them. The original piece of artwork this was copied from is by Randall Whiteis. Its a bit hard to track down the original because his cghub profile is gone with the rest of the site and he doesn't seem to have it posted anywhere else that I can find readily. In the future when using someone else work please make note that you are not the original creator and give credit where credit is due.

Heres a link to the original piece in question for anyone who might stumble across this geekvariety.tumblr.com/post/40…

omg thanks so much, i tried so hard to find their name, but the art was used in so many places.

Great artist and sorry for doing this.

Is there any site i can use to track down artists names easier because i have another piece in my gallery which is someone else's work

Also, what is the correct way to credit, for example my painting of the Godfather from the film? Can i just say it's not my own design?

Thanks again and sorry again.

Google image search is probably the best way to track them down but this image doesn't show up on his personal site for some reason and cghub shut down a few months back so thats a dead end.

Best way to credit is just post the artist name and link back to their website. Lots of artist make their living online selling prints and such, so if people can follow a trail back to them, and if they are so inclined to purchase something from them they will have a direct path back. Aside from that just post the artist name and give credit where credit is due.

No need to apologize, just be diligent and make sure to give credit, it can literally change someones life and give them the ability to put food on the table or pay their bills, so its pretty important.

Heres a link to Randalls blogspot randallwhiteis.blogspot.com/ since cghub is sadly gone now.

Hmm, i managed to track most artist names, but some of the pieces are used in so many websites and without crediting the artists.

Ill make sure to credit as best as i can in the future and thanks for the help

Just out of interest, how did you come across Randall Whites, he does some pretty good art.

I found him doing an image search on cghub while that was still an active site. I look at sites like DrawCrowd, Artstation, deviantart and some other comic centric sites like comicartfans and comicartcommunity to try and post and promote artist I like. I check out etsy, pinterest and various other as well to again spread the word about artist doing things I enjoy.

As someone who has in the past fallen victim to someone trying to pass off my own work as theirs, and just having a sense of what it means to be able to sell my own art and how important a link to my store is for that very purpose, I try and pay it forward cuz its the least I can do when folks are posting their art for free online and I am getting to enjoy regardless of my ability or want to buy something they may have made.

Its just about supporting other artist and making a strong community.

Yeah that is a big problem that you see on tumblr, pinterest and other places where people just don't credit things and its not always easy to find out who did something but like I said google image search in great and also there is a browser pluggin called TINEYE which is a reverse image search that works pretty well also.
