Metal Sonic having an existential crisis.

Metal is probably my favorite Sonic character in terms of design, but in terms character, I feel he's been criminally under-developed, or at least from what I've seen in the games. I'd personally like to see what it would be like if Metal Sonic became more self aware, or even develop emotional capabilities!

Metal is typically reduced to the evil doppelganger trope, "I look like Sonic, so therefore I must surpass Sonic". Now granted, what little character he does have states that he believes himself to be the true Sonic, and that the real is a Copy of him. But all he'd have to do is subtract the number of years he's known him from Sonic's age to see that Sonic predates him, possibly causing Metal to realize he's not the original Sonic! Not just that, but it's been stated by some sources that he's programmed to remember every single time Sonic's defeated him in order to learn from past mistakes. That would mean he remembers EVERY SINGLE TIME HE'S DIED. Imagine what that would mentally do to him if he could comprehend pain!

Better yet how would that make him feel about his creator, Eggman, creating him for a task that he may never be able to fulfil? Seeing as how Sonic has taken down foes MUCH more powerful than Metal, even at his strongest, I feel that he would have a lot of pressure on his shoulders! Possibly leading to feelings of resentment towards Eggman, or at the VERY LEAST an inferiority complex. And what if He did succeed in defeating, or even killing Sonic? What would Eggman do with him now that he's served his purpose? Would he be heralded around as Eggman's pride and joy, or would Eggman just scrap him since he has no need for him anymore? The stories practically write themselves!

Also, if you're wondering why he's in a bathroom if he's a robot, let me ask you this: Why did Eggman need multiple bathrooms onboard the egg-carrier when he's the only human on it?
