Mind controlling alien. It approached some important person, likely a leading space research scientist or some government official; The alien used his mind controlling abilities to implant him with false childhood memories. In those "memories" a kid meets an alien one day (which looks somewhat different. Its twin torsos and heads are fused into one symmetric body and it overall looks more friendly and cartoony; I would say like a creature from Pixar movie). The alien and the boy become best buddies and hang out together a lot, doing fun things and helping each other out, until the alien has to leave for his home. He promises to return some day and reunite with his friend again.

These beautiful memories are all lies, unfortunately. The aliens are plotting invasion and in order to prepare ground for it they approach influential people manipulating them with these visions in order to make them emotionally close to themselves and more likely to believe that visitors' intentions are peaceful.. until its too late.
It's almost like "don't run, we're your friends" from "Mars Attacks!" just far more foul, fucking with the victim on deep emotional level.

The design was likely inspired by dragon Eborsisk (who is fucking awesome and I have to draw a fan art of it some day too).

As far as colours are concerned this thing was shiny and had a greyish-pink color. Just as esophagus during dissection.

It also looks a bit as how I envision alien Vizaphmal from CAS work. But that will come later...
