Description This monstrous, hooded figure has gained great notoriety over the years. Object stitched to his hood is a second head, belonging to some ancient primordial entity. This Nameless was Demigod's old enemy, torn apart by a powerful explosion he never truly died and his severed head still housed a malignant intelligence. Ultimately it became an object of cult, secretly worshiped by several groups; that was until a proper host appeared, a powerful insectoid priest, Β who quickly advanced among the ranks of Nameless' followers. With the ancient head sewn onto his hood, the newly crowned king became a slave. Following this event the Nameless could finally come out of hiding and build his own domain; This however never happened and rejecting his cover turned out to be one and fatal mistake in his unspeakably long existence. Not much time passed when he has been intercepted by Demigod's own cult; Legends say that it was Demigod's previous incarnation that decapitated the Nameless. This time his most trusted servant, Obsidian have completed the task, severing the head from Priest's hood and releasing the mind control spell. Old enemies have met again as the severed head was presented before Avatar of Thorns who ironically greeted it before devouring his old acquaintance.Β

Slave-King's fate remains unknown. Some say he died shortly after being freed from mind control, some say he survived, but being on the verge of death surrounded himself with a cocoon from which some day his new, reborn form will arise. Whichever was the case since that day all insectoid cults have been allies to Demigod and especially his servant Obsidian.

You have the beginnings of a fine writer yourself, KOR. I'd love to see a book from you. Perhaps you can one-up Chaosium and make a dream creature guide, or perhaps you can write a series of dark fantasy epic stories.

This is also a very weird, terrible creature, or should I say creatures. The King and Nameless look like a walking nightmare together. Vaguely reminds me of Wayne Barlowe's demonic entities.

No way, writing this was such a pain XD I'm glad it is seemingly clear at least.

Β Barlowe will always be one of my strongest inspirations.

I can very much see it. The spirits of Barlowe and Giger are both very prominent in your work, and I feel as though some of your creatures could have been designed and animated by Harryhausen as well!

Ah, perhaps one day we can work on a project like a bestiary or something, and you can send me notes and I'll do the writing half of it based on your notes. XP

Giger, Barlowe, Lovecraft. Those three had strongest influence on me. Perhaps Harryhausen too, in some sense but I think his style was more light-hearted than my dark designs.

Very true. Mostly I see Harryhausen in a few of your dream or mythological creatures. I can imagine him animating the Tarasque, the Amphisbaena, and the Simurgh for instance. But yes, your designs are incredibly dark and much weirder. the Insectoid Slave-King and Nameless are scary as hell. XD

My greatest influences, concerning my writing, are Smith, Lovecraft, and Dunsany, and also a bit of Vathek and the Arabian Nights. But you can judge for yourself when my next stories arrive. XP

Can't wait. I'm hoping they will be as great as The Taste of Pale Flesh.
