Description
This cunning entity is one of the GOBL's most skilled disciples, specializing in illusion and odds manipulation. A mischievous imp that is yet another example of my utter fascination with the Trickster archetype.Related content

Drat! Drat! Drat! Why wasn't this posted on Friday?! On Saturday, in my role-playing horror game the hearty adventures encountered such a creature. They heard clucking in a destroyed village.
When they went to investigate a huge tongue lashed out of the ruins and siezed the smallest party member. After a few seconds she flew back out of the bush covered in sticky, smelly saliva. The gigantic lizard then moved away to set up another ambush.

Interesting although sounds pretty harmless thing to be lurking in destroyed village. In one of my dreams there was a vampire spider monster hiding in such a place.

It was actually intended to be "comic relief" during a stressful adventure.

I see. That sounds much better than the comic relief that some characters met on their journeys (Star Wars part 1 for example )

In the 1969 movie "The Wild Bunch" the comic relief in the final fight is a woman being blown in two at point blank range by a shotgun. The whole audience cheers every time. This scene makes much more sense in the original cut as the "Director's Cut" and the current editing of the original cut has eliminated much of the brutality of the action.

I have a collection of little bells of this type. Whenever I see someone with a chocolate easter bunny/santa, I take its bell.
I like this design, but it would be a difficult choice between this one and the former version.

Ah, maybe, I've thought about it. I could jingle everywhere I go.
My original plan was to attach them to my clothes, but I don't know if they'd survive washing.

I love the gangly, nearly skeletal appearance of the original, which added a demented flair, but I find this newer version much more satisfying to look at. I feel like I'm torn apart as I can't decide whether to follow along the tongue to the front bell or along the tail to the hind bell. Truly mesmerizing.
The trickster archetype is such a fascinating one. Monkey King, Anansi, Raven Father, they express the immense power and also foolishness of the wild, untamed spirit. I love that feeling. Did you know that the native Hawaiians have a trickster god who is a pig-man?

I am much more fond of this version.
Ha, no idea. Pigman? I did not know that pigs were present there before some colonists from the old world brought them.

Nope, pigs were introduced to Hawaii by the Polynesians. Though they were much smaller than the pigs introduced by western colonists. The pig god, Kamapua'a, is the figure of many stories about his greedy, gluttonous, sexual, and heroic adventures, reflecting the importance and diversity of pigs to the natives. Famously, he's sometimes the husband of the fire goddess Pele, and other times he's a horny admirer who annoys her. Either way, their passionate relationship, representing water and fire, explains the fertility of the islands.
