I was dissatisfied with my previous take so here comes the new version. Some notable things about it includeΒ the face, which is based on a Hatchetfish, a type of really ugly deep sea creature.ΒAnother thing is how the organs look. Most of their depictions have pretty clean organs, just as the anatomical atlas might convince one they are. In truth, however there is a lot of connective tissue, the intestines are bound by the mesentery, heart hidden within the pericardium etc. Again putting some experiences from work to my art.

People call this Leyak/ Leak in Bali, but in Borneo they call it Palasik. My friend's dad saw it once hanging around their roof probably chasing after my friend that time.

I think this creature has a ton of names in different places, and there are variants of it, like that one in Japan that just detaches the head alone. Not nearly as much fun as with organs.Β
