:: I D E N T I T Y ::

Name: Scáth
      Meaning: Shadow (Irish Gaelic) - pronounced “scorr”
Gender: Male
Age: Adolescent (2 years 8 months)
Height: 31 in (78cm)
Weight: 67 lbs (30kg)
Voice: Jason Marsden
       Mannerisms: Whenever he’s frustrated or anxious, he’ll flick his left ear a lot while speaking and tends to draw out any “eh” sounds.
Bloodline/s: Timber x Mountain - His only Mountain relative is his father.
Physical Description: He has a light build, making him quick and quiet when he wants to be. His fur is very sleek and not too long in the body with only longer fur on his neck, sides of his face, hind quarters and tail. He has 3 scars on his left shoulder and 2 nicks in his right ear (one smaller one near the tip of his ear and one longer one in the middle) and one nick in his left ear.
He walks with his head raised up and has a loping gait. His tail tends to swing side to side a lot even when he’s stationary.

In Depth: Scáth is a very extroverted wolf, he likes to talk and chat with everyone and gives off an air of ease and confidence. His friendly demeanor makes him relatively popular with his packmates and newcomers alike and he always appears interested in whatever they have to say even if he is not actually interested. He’s very clever at using his charm to get what he wants and making others feel comfortable talking with him. He likes to flirt with others, particularly strangers, and isn’t fussed whether he’s flirting with a male or female, he enjoys the reaction he gets out of them, whether it’s positive or negative doesn’t really matter to him as he’s not particularly interested in going anywhere with it.
Scáth has a deep need to be liked, although he would not admit it, and he’s focused on becoming a renowned Jager. His skills with others and attitude suit him more to being an Outrider but he’s set his mind on being a Jager and will do anything to achieve his goal.
Despite his friendly demeanor Scáth is inwardly a very self centred individual, while he is happy to talk with others he’s not particularly interested in others personally and will much rather focus on himself. His own needs and wants override any that others might have in his mind, and his childish attitude to life extends to his insistence that he doesn’t need to take advice from anyone or alter his attitude at all. He likes to think he’s more than ready to climb the ranks of the pack and the fact that he’s not yet an adult doesn’t mean much to him, and he will stubbornly ignore anyone who attempts to correct him.
He gets incredibly jealous of anyone who appears to be doing better than he is, or when someone seems to be more attached to anyone else, which often manifests as him becoming distant with the individual in question.

:: H I S T O R Y ::

Pre-Group History: Scáth was born to an Onni wolf, his father was a Rogue who was not around much and only ever visited a couple of times a month. His mother told him and his siblings that their father was busy and a very important wolf, attempting to shield her pups from the reality of their father being unfaithful to her and was disinterested in being the family type. Scáth and his siblings enjoyed spending their days playing and sleeping, being within Onni territory meaning they were safe from any danger from outsiders and free to explore as they pleased. Scáth was always the most adventurous of his litter, and almost always the winner of their play fights.
Their father’s visits stopped entirely by the time the pups were 5 months old, the pups were not terribly upset by it by that point as they’d had precious little contact with him. Their mother became very distant however, slipping into a very reserved and quiet sadness. Scáth ignored the situation for the most part, even when their mother attempted to explain things to them, and preferred to go and play rather than sit around.
One of his brothers was the first of the pups to leave, the most distant of his siblings that had never wanted to join in with the others much, followed soon after by his other brother. Scáth was unhappy about having only his sister left to play with, but didn’t seem as affected by them leaving as she did. Scáth began to invest more of his time with his packmates instead, and it was only 2 days after his sister had also left that he even noticed she was gone. His mother told him that she left to decide her place and would likely return, but he was unconcerned with the situation.

It was after his siblings left that Scáth began to think about what he should do, he'd always assumed he'd stay with the pack but with all his siblings having left he wondered if he was supposed to leave. After asking around a bit and learning he could easily stay in the pack, and after hearing from a few packmates that they'd miss him if he left, he made up his mind to stay. He spoke with his mother and told her he was staying in Onni and she asked him what task he was going to do for the pack. He'd never thought about it before and began to ask others what the different roles meant, he quickly dismissed the idea of being either a Mender or Lore Keeper as those roles would not get him the title and respect he was after. He considered Overseer for a while and a couple of times shadowed some of the existing Overseers but it was not as action packed as he'd hoped it would be and was put off it entirely when one of the current Overseers started lecturing him about how serious and responsible the position was.
His mother suggested the role of Outrider to him, which he considered for a long while and did enjoy the idea of getting to meet new wolves first, he did the same as with the Overseers and shadowed a couple of existing Outriders a few times but his interest in the role was entirely forgotten when he saw a group of Jagers bringing down an elk. He stopped his shadowing of the Outrider he was with and was entranced by the way the wolves brought the animal down.
He followed the Jagers home and asked them questions the entire way, very much liking the tales of how important they were and how much the others respected their skills, even being told of having to undergo a test to see if his skills were good enough didn't put him off, Scáth wanted to be one of them. More than that, he wanted to be the best of them. The fame and attention the role seemed to inspire appealed to the young wolf and he began to involve himself with the Jagers and going out testing his skills.
His mother and a couple of the older pack members told him he'd be better off sticking with the Outriders, the role suited him much better in their eyes, but Scáth had made up his mind - He wanted to be a Jager.
Scáth’s mother remains with the Onni, as he does, but she’s now too old to bear any more pups and spends her days resting around the main den area. He visits her a lot and brings her food, and mostly spends his time talking at her about what he’s done and his plans. She doesn’t mind, and is happy to quietly listen to him and enjoy the company of her pup that has remained at home.
