Well at his Iknimaya he failed at the try of taming his Ikran. The creature gave him a toss with its wing and he fell off the cliffs. His friend tried to catch him but... it didn't work.
He hit his head hard at a bolder while he fell and crashed first into the treetops and then into the river. He lost is memories and lived in the jungle from that moment on as a wild Na'vi. His hair changed to dreads and his behaviour got wilder.
He changed a lot
