Physical Information
Physical appearance:
Holly is an average-sized Sprigatito with a scruff of fur poking up on her head, two whiskers instead of the usual three, and a purple cloak laced with gold trim at the base.
Personal information
Nature: Adamant
Characteristic: Scatters things often
Likes: Spicy food, books, potion-making, her family
Dislikes: Anti-witch propaganda, dry foods, chocolate, potion-making...?
Personality (Traits):
Holly is a brash girl who will dive into whatever passions she has without hesitation. Stubborn to a fault: Holly won't stop pursuing her desires until she has them firmly in her paws. Of course, not everything in life comes that easily. When Holly can't reach her goals, it weighs down on her. She has a preposition to lashing out when this happens, which has earned her a reputation for being quick to anger. After her fits of rage, Holly will usually lock herself in her room and pace around. Though sometimes, this too fails. When that happens, Holly has no choice but to turn to those around her- usually her family in Castanet: most of whom view her as overly-emotional but love her nonetheless.
When Holly isn't in 'one of her moods,' as her father puts it, she's often spunky and cheerful. Energetic to a fault, Holly will happily drag her peers into her silly schemes, or just talk to them for ages on end about whatever strange new thing has piqued her interests. Her favorite topic is magic, of course. She will talk about the different magics she knows for hours on end. Though when asked about her own magic, Holly is unable to answer. Her mother's right. She's just a late-bloomer, after all.
Additional information:
- Holly's family are all witches. Every member has their own unique brand of magic that usually unlocks in their childhood years. Holly's mother and father, for example, are capable of drawing the eyes and ears of everyone around them within a certain radius, respectively. In exchange, Holly's mother loses her eyesight when her powers are active, and her father loses his hearing. Prolonged use increases the risk of permanent harm. Holly's mother is very nearsighted, and her father has lost almost all of his hearing.
- Holly had a fairly sheltered upbringing, so she's not as skilled in certain social aspects as she should be.
- Holly has not unlocked her powers yet, despite being a young adult.
- Holly was named after her grandmother! It's a tradition in her family for the firstborn daughter to take their maternal grandmother's name. Her grandmother's full name is Hollyanne, but Holly's father refused Hollyanne, so Holly became just Holly instead!
History
Tales within Holly's family speak of a woman who entered the mist to escape persecution. That woman was Holly's namesake, Hollyanne. A witch seeking asylum from witch hunters; Hollyanne and her husband eventually settled down in Castanet, where they began rebuilding their lives while hiding the nature of their bloodline. It started with a bakery that unfortunately burned down, then an attempt at studying law, and finally, a reliance on Hollyanne's powers and blatant theft. It wasn't an easy life, but Hollyanne did what she had to. She raised a beautiful daughter who was hidden from the nature of her curse. But that daughter, Thistle, eventually reached the age where magic blooms. Her eyesight started to worsen, and everyone in her classes couldn't keep their gaze off her. Everyone including Thorn, a fellow Floragato who came from his own line of local mages.
Unlike Thistle, Thorn's family never went through persecution for being witches. Thorn was raised to believe that his powers set his family apart from the rest. They were something to celebrate and something that his family took very seriously. So when Thorn recognized the magic of a talented witch in his midst, he knew he had to woo her. It was a quick process. Far quicker than it should have been. Within months of becoming adults, Thorn had successfully made Thistle his. His voice was the only one she heard, even if he struggled to respond back at times. In a matter of weeks after dating, the two married.
Thorn's flagrant flaunting of magic obviously didn't sit well with Hollyanne or her husband. The two were heavily against the marriage, but Thistle wouldn't listen. She kept true to her love and refused to leave. She became a performer with him, making ends meet by drawing a crowd. The two made a good living at first- more than enough to handle the birth of their first child, Yarrow. Yarrow was gifted in magic, unlocking her powers early in life. Far earlier than her younger sister would.
It isn't a stretch to say that Holly reveres Yarrow. But Yarrow doesn't live with the family anymore. Something happened- something that Holly doesn't fully remember- that caused Yarrow to pack her bags and move out. The resulting tension between Thistle and Thorn nearly sparked a divorce and created a rift between the two households. But eventually, things calmed down. Yarrow was gone, but Holly started seeing her maternal grandmother more. Sometimes more than her own parents!
With a quiet lull returning to the household: Holly took on Yarrow's old role, and became big sister to her younger brother Pine. Pine, like Yarrow, showed promise at an early age. Early enough for it to become a problem. Pine's magic is wild and dangerous. It involves voodoo, which means Pine needs almost constant supervision and care. Though Holly's parents try their best, they can't be everywhere at once. Between caring for Pine and keeping the family afloat- there just isn't enough time for everyone. Holly knows this. She also knows that her parents' shows aren't bringing in the revenue they used to. With her mother's eyesight waning and her father's hearing a shell of its former self: it's only a matter of time before the final price is taken, and the magic within them fades. There's a reason why witches tend to have short lifespans.
Holly isn't afraid of magic, though. She still fantasizes about the day when her powers awaken, and she becomes a true witch. Until then, she's decided to join the Arcanists. It'll bring her family a quick buck, and maybe with some help, it can serve as a catalyst to help this kitty awaken her latent potential.

Cameo Information
Holly is free to cameo anytime, but there are a few things to consider when using her!
Right now, Holly cannot use any of her four moves. In canon, she never spent time learning them. She was too focused on trying to develop her magical talent.
I plan to have her learn and acquire her full moveset pretty early on, and will update this as she gains access to them.
