Description
This is the last of three art pieces I did for my Horror film class at SVA, taught by Roy Frumkes. For our visual project to present on the day of the final class, we had to do up to three fully-rendered pieces of characters and scenarios related to the movies we saw.The third and final one was the most challenging to pick. I had a lot of different choices to go with and ultimately decided to try the mummified Egyptian Priest, Imhotep. I used the original movie starring Christopher Lee as the biggest inspiration. I don't remember much about the Brendan Frasier Mummy series, although I did see a bit of the animated series on Kids WB in passing a while back. Once I settled on the Mummy, I tried going for a grainy, sand-like texture like the picture was very old. I think this one came out the best, but I don't think enough time was spent on the background; could've used some hieroglyphics or something. Eh, turned out alright for what it's worth.

I don't think you needed the grain, personally...to me, it's juuust a tad distracting. Nothing major, mind. There are other ways to make a picture look "aged" as well, but either way, it's all good. I actually like the simple background...it gives you the right idea without being too busy. The positioning of the eye right behind his head is a nice, creepy touch. Good job!

How long did it take you to do all 3 of them? They look really cool.
