...aaaand here it is, the final Official Art piece for Season 3. I obviously couldn't have this one up until 073 premiered, so now's the time! For those've you keeping score with the .hack// and Battle Network references, Motherboard is essentially a (totally unoriginal >>; ) hybrid between Serenade.EXE and Aura. Surprisingly enough, Motherboard actually IS based on someone from the original TvTome, but she was one of the earliest in this odd kick of mine where I see a person's NAME and think it's cool, then make a character out of it. I think I spoke to the 'real' Motherboard like...once, if at all. Probably just to tell her "hey, I made a character after you kthxbai".

Now, the final battle with Motherboard was something I had to come up with practically on the spot. I KNEW she and Alphazet would fight, but I decided right then and there to add the Shadow copies of Alpha, Zetto and Ruri...and for those've you who wanna question the logic, those were just additional copies of Alpha and Zetto, they weren't special like the ones that eventually fought, and the one who eventually became Phaxal. Animating the fight scenes were the most unbearable parts about the movie for me, but I'm glad with how they turned out in the end.

Now there's her design. Her body is essentially just Serenade's, with practically no differences...yeah. Her hair was going to be her most distinguishing feature, and originally it was going to be just plain gold (I had Kindarspirit in mind when coming up with her head's design), then it was going to be mostly gold with white tips on the end...which would be an even MORE obvious ripoff of Aura. Then while I was doing her sprites at Episode 073, I came up with the idea to give her hair a color-cycle. I hadn't tried anything like that before and thought it'd be interesting. It was a little tricky to pull off on her drawn character model, but I like the final product...and any awkwardness wasn't seen anyway, due to her being in "shadow" form for the majority of the episode. Also, remember that sword of hers. It's important for Season 4.

Motherboard was played by Haushinka, aka Kagome from the Voice Acting Alliance, who's been looking forward to doing this role for a LONG time. She seriously pulled through for me in the final scene, even under a lotta stress, so Kagome if you're reading this, thanks a lot!
