Did they really think, that they could have picked up any guy in the street and stuff him into the Pinhead's costume and nobody would see the difference? The first one was and aristocrat, graceful and mysterious. The present looks just a bandit who is fond of piercing: he's fat (Stephan is rather muscular, but in this costume he looks like Winnie the Pooh), clumsy, and damn ugly! And he's got a painted black lips!!! (why did they add this detail to the Pinhead's image I obviously don't know). Some people thought that Doug Bradley was not an actor, but just a extra in costume who pronounced lines for the camera. So anyone could do it. We'll they were mistaken. I have nothing against Stephan Collins as a person, but he played awfully, anything he could was just goggling his eyes and curling his lips. And he was dubbed by another actor, for Pinhead to speak with British accent. I don't know who dubbed him, but the voice turned out to be awful and too far from original. That's a complete failure.Related content

Doug Bradley was so utterly beautiful as Pinhead, and his voice....sexy as hell.... I fwll in love with him when i was ten ( he was definitely more an angel to me than a demon) I would never ever watch a movie with another Pinhead than Doug bradley

Hellraiser Revelations may be nothing compared to the original, but so were any of the Hellraiser sequels starting from Hellraiser IV - Bloodline. Hellraiser Revelations was better than Hellraiser - Hellseeker, Hellraiser - Hellworld and especially Hellraiser IV - Bloodline. It's about on par with Hellraiser - Inferno and Hellraiser - Deader. While not good, it's still not bad, the other 3 are downright horrible. The only really good ones are the first 3 Hellraiser movies, especially the original. Stop shitting on Hellraiser Revelations it's not that fucking bad it's just not "good".Β

Collins is failure here, he doesn't fit AT ALL, when I saw movie for the first time, I though "What the f*** they did with Pinhead..?" :/ to not mention his voice... awful. Doug, come back...

When doug bradley was pinhead. I forgot he was doug and I was looking more at pinhead. I was afraid and creeped out. One of the best villains and actor protrayals of all time. So cold and poetic. Brought fear and suffering back to the world hell. And all because of a box. We were introduced to one of the greatest horror villains of all time. This new guy. Well he was laughable

What do you think of Hellraiser: Origins Pinhead? The film hasn't come out yet (as far as I know, anyway), but it looks like it has potential, if you can overlook the fact that Doug Bradley isn't Pinhead (but thankfully not the chunky imposter on the right) and that the new looks for some of the cenobites look like something out of Mortal Combat. =/ In other news, auto correct sucks. I do not know. It looks interesting (for fans' project), but second-rate in relation to the original. Cenobites look like monsters from Silent Hill, or game Jericho.
They are just ugly. While the original Clive Barker had ugliness and beauty together. It was more interesting than just "let's do as much as possible nasty and terrible monsters" of the project. And hey, I saw on the internet photoshop where Doug Bradley was dressed in makeup of theirs new Pinhead. LOL.

I never played either of those games (I only know Pyramid Head is from Silent Hill [and is constantly shipped with Pinhead for some reason]) so I can't really make a comparison, but they seem more like that than Mortal Combat (Kombat?) (I still think their version of Pinhead looks like a final boss for that type of game though).

The odd thing is, I remember seeing a promotional pic of him in costume prior to the movie's release, and he actually looked decent.Β The black lipstick was still there, but the makeup and suit was fine otherwise.

They did a really bad job on Stephen Collins's makeup.Β No matter how low budget the other movies were, Doug Bradley still looked like a real human being, even with all the makeup on, but Collins looks like an animatronic dummy.Β The face just looks cartoonish.Β The eyes are bizarrely huge and bulging, his face is big and round and his mouth is tiny.Β They really lost the actor's facial shape under the makeup.

For me the only movies worthy of seeing are 1 and 2. Β They were really dark and surreal with a touch of fantastic story telling. Β Some of the follow ups however felt a bit pushed for ideas, and although the wonderful Doug Bradley was still present I just couldn't get into them.

Guys, guys, guys, calm your tits a minute. Doug turned down this film because he didn't have time to do it. Check the Wiki page. They were about to lose the rights to the franchise, and they had to make a moving in a matter of WEEKS. Whether or not the movie was worth a shit is another discussion, but Doug was always awesome to watch. --- On the note of story quality... imagine if films 4-9 were used to further the story and IP of the hell labyrinth and Leviathan instead of random horror stories with incidentally awesome Pinhead floating around

But the second incarnation looks like a crazed fan-boy who tried to damn hard!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Doug turned down the role, because the script was so weak, and the paycheck so miniscule. And also coming off of Hellworld, which I'm sure still left a bad taste in everybody's mouths. You ask me, Doug was smart to bail out when he did. A real trooper for sticking it out as long as he did.

Yes that movie was so awful. The new pinhead reminded me of a terrible comic book villain. The way he pronounced his words and the way he acted. And when he was talking to the asshole boyfriend in the movie. He kept opening his eyes real wide like he was trying so hard but failing at portraying Doug's character. He did not act like Pinhead. To me the new Pinhead is a douche. I think if Doug did see this it would probably piss him off.
