hehe, feathers are awesome. i have quite a few ones that I like to look after (they belonged to bengal eagle owls and are gorgeously coloured).

Nice shot. Since you have advanced crit on here, I figured I'd give you a little critique. What you have here is very nice, and the detail is great. I would suggest using a slightly smaller aperture (bigger f/ number) to get more of the big drop in focus, because that's what my eye tends to go towards. Also, you can get some nifty reflections if you get at a more acute angle with whatever the water droplet is on. For example, look at the reflections in the water droplet that's up in the top right corner. If you shoot directly down onto the droplet, you see through it and it usually isn't as exciting. Usually. Not always.. You did a nice job with the two flares though. That's pretty sweet.

I didn't even try to get the flares. Just happened. xD
Thanks for the advice, though. I'll go ahead and try it again sometime... I have some other ideas though. Like, for instance, lighting one match and throwing it into a box of matches. They should pretty much all burst out at the same time, right?
Holy hell, that'd be cool in the dark. With a small apperture and long shutter speed... Yeah. I can see it now...
Bursts of violent flame shooting out of the box. Yum.

Maybe.. you might want to try it with just one match first, because I have a feeling you might just get a bunch of noisy brightness if you light the whole box.
Also, try something like this: [link]

You think I could pull something like that off?
Hm. I once tried to get (on my old camera) a piece of paper burning that said "and I just wanted to let you know, I still love you." or something.
It didn't work out, but I'll try to re-approach it and stuff.
Perhaps screwed up in a metal bin, set ablaze?
Yeah, that might work.
I'd have to be careful for the smoke, though.

This is nice. Dov and such. I like how the lines...are disrupted by the raindrops.

Heh. Yeah, I kinda like that too.
And the way that it magnifies as well, I thought it was pretty nice.

Great texture. Cool how the drop sits just so on the feather.

A tripod could help, but I didn't bother going upstairs to get it. xD
They're too fiddly for me.

I think it just limits your movement.

Heh.~ Thanks. I've been wanting to do it for a while, but my normal lens just couldn't get the detail right. =/
