"Hello, you must be Erik." Lia greeted the next subject who looked like what you could probably call the least obvious gamer in the world. "You look a little different than I imagined."
"Yeah, I get that a lot." Erik laughed and sat down into the comfy armchair with his arms crossed. "They always say I look more like someone who just stepped off the cover of a teen magazine."
Erik did indeed look like a real teenage superstar, like a popstar, or something, but he laughed it off as just a dumb joke. His well kempt hair, stylish way of clothing and razor sharp outline of his face talked the polar opposite of someone who called themselves an avid and dedicated gamer and streamer. Lia composed herself, for she did actually start half drooling at his sight, and finally got to the point of their meeting.
"So, what even brings you here then, Erik?" she asked straight. You don't seem like someone suffering from any complexes or stuff."
"Well, true, I do believe myself to be a confident and well versed person both at my job and my hobby." Erik said, still maintaining his smile, though his eyes talked a whole other story. "I just... Well, instead of a normal facecam, I use a Vtuber avatar, and even change my voice, so people think I'm a girl."
"Oh.. Oh, that's... Well, not unheard of, but unusual for a solution." Lia nodded slowly and took out her pill pouch to play around with it. "I'll be honest I don't know if I get the right idea here, but is it that you want some sort of solution to this problem?"
"Yes, that's right." Erik said, with his lips finally drooping down from the smile just now. "I want to be able to... Appear as my true self on screen without having to start awkward explanations."
"Well, you could just... you know, tell people you're a guy really, and be done with it." Lia said, half putting her pouch away, but Erik stopped her. "What?"
"Don't put it away! I know what those are." Erik said, grabbing Lia's wrist firmly. "Those are the magic pills you give people, right?"
"Wow, looks like word goes around fast." Lia huffed as she pulled the pouch out again and opened it to him. "Alright, pick one, but only one. No cheating! I've had cheaters before."
Erik picked a red one out and looked at it in the dim light. It was an ordinary placebo pill from the looks of it, just with some color added. Red, and shiny looking, it was so sterile and simple, he had a hard time believing it was even anything close to magical.
"Well, we only live once." he finally said, and gulped it down. "Okay, let's see the magic!"
It took a hot minute to even have anything happen, but all of a sudden a large witch's hat popped up from out of thin air and fell on Erik's head, perfectly, as if he himself put it on.
"What... Where did this come from?" he asked in confusion, and suddenly he started shrinking so rapidly, that he almost completely disappeared under the hat and it took some fidgeting around underneath it, before something that definitely wasn't Erik, poked its head out. A small cat like creature with human featured, but a cat's face and large ears looked up at Lia. The large red hat suddenly shrunk to a size that fit her perfectly and her ears poked out of it. She wore an oversized red coat in the same color as the hat, had purple hair and a purple scarf around her neck. The most prominent feature were her big, glowing yellow eyes, in the color of gold.
"Wha... What just happened to me?" she asked even more confused than Erik was just now, and she sounded super adorable too. "I feel so small and... warm..."
She finally found herself in front of the mirror and that's when it hit her. She started screaming at the top of her lungs and hid behind Lia.
"What's wrong, cutie?" Lia asked in the most gentle tone she could muster. "You seem like you saw a ghost."
"I... I transformed into my vtuber avatar... Or at least what looks like it. I modeled the avatar after Niko from OneShot." the new Niko said crying. "Oh my gosh, what am I gonna do now?"
"No worries." Lia now leaned down to pat her head. "At least now you're ready to show your face on stream."
"And what about my life as Erik?" Niko asked crying even more. "What about me?"
"Don't worry about it. People will still see you as Erik while out on the street, but only your stream viewers wil see the true you." Lia said, picking Niko up in her arms. "For you see, the pills just bring out your true self.
