I've been playing Ocarina of Time again after I heard of the Majora's Mask 3D and I realized something. Saria is a very sad character. Well, I guess her story is anyway. After the events in Ocarina of Time, Saria never sees her best friend again...It really is sad Link and Saria grew up together. That scene in Ocarina of Time when Link is about to leave Kokiri Forest always used to make me cry a little. Link has never spoken but in that moment after Saria gave him her ocarina and he stepped back slowly...you could really feel his pain. He didn't want to leave. He didn't want to leave his best friend behind but he had to. If he didn't, he knew that Saria's life would of been at risk.

So, I thought I would make up a little story:

This scene I drew is from a dream Saria had. She dreamed that Link returned and they played hide and seek in the forest.

When he spotted her, he handed her a lotus flower and said, "Found you."

Link then frowned and said, "I thought I'd never see you again...I was lost in the darkness for so long."

Saria smiled, "I knew you would find your way back home. I...I never told you..."

And that's where the dream cuts off. Saria awakens crying staring at the ceiling. She rose up from the bed and stepped out of Link's house...She's stayed there ever since he vanished. Saria held onto the railing and said, "I never told you...now I'll never get a chance to tell you...how much I love you."

I thought I would make a nice back story for this picture. I guess Saria reminds me of myself in a way...She is always kind. Even in the darkest of times she has a smile on her face. Her best friend is gone but she keeps smiling...for him. Because he has changed her life in so many ways. He never really knew what he had done for her. She never felt more alive than when she was with him. Loved ones get torn from us so quickly. Cherish every moment. Be there for those who need your help because even something as little as a "Hello" would make their day.

Saria's Letter to Link:

Even though you are far away and we don't see each other as often, you are my best friend. Nothing will ever change that. I know that I worry far too much but you know how weird I can be. Let's just say that I am very grateful for what you have done for me. You may think that you don't do very much to deserve being my best friend but I think you deserve it. Just take this HUG. Take it silly! Ha ha ha...you really do mean so much to me. When you come home, I have a surprise for you. Okay! Well, see you soon Link! I...hope you're safe.
