CRITIQUE NOT DESIRED!!!! This picture has been in the works for quite a while... It gave me problems at every turn and this explosion and its suckiness irritates me to NO end at all!! Still, its the first explosion I've drawn in literally years. I guess I can't complain.
The pic has a lot of flaws. Where is Sonic and Sallys legs? Why is the explosion hovering? Why did I even TRY to draw this!! T_T WHY?!
I swear guys, I can not handle you pointing out the flaws of this picture right now unless you know HOW to fix the explosion. It's one of those pics I'm tired of looking at and I'm throwing it up, unsatisfied.

this looks awesome you shouldn't point out flaws on thins before anyone else it's something my teacher taught me. Pretend you did a great job even if you don't think you did and chances are people won't notice your little mistakes XD

This picture is amazing~ There is so much detail, it must have taken ages! And the explosion looks fine to me, there are a number of reasons for an explosion to hover~ I also want to add that the detail in Sally's hair astounds me, It's so perfect! And I like how you actually showed Sonic's fur being blown around, not many people take that into consideration~

You're very welcome =3 and don't worry, all artists see the worst of a big project over the best of it, most of the time the viewer doesn't even notice the things the artist does. It really is an amazing picture though~

Ahh, this is the sort of picture I like best... but you already know that, I see stories where there aren't any, like in that last one. xD Another thing I like is there seems to be -fur- on Sonic. He's not all...plastic-like.

Let me tell you something, that explosion looks aok, infact it looks like the ones they would have in the comics, so I'd say 10/10 for that, you did really well, and the whole picture it self looks amazing, I love how Sonic is protecting Sally, that is truly what heros are for

I honestly think this is fantastic! (I was going to comment earlier but my phone was being screwy) It has a great, detailed background, and it's a fantasy setting, mid-air explosion is perfectly justifiable! I wouldn't have though anything of it! And their feet are CLEARLY just in the tall grass.

I'm sorry to hear you're sick! 
Because you seem so concerned about the explosion, the simplest way I can think of to fix it, or even the next time you draw one, is adding more staggered "explosion bubbles" (the half circle plumes, think of layering them kind of like scales, but irregular) starting from the edges of the explosion in. The extra weight on the edges would make the center seem to bulge out, exploding closer to the viewer. It will also push a bit more depth.

I think this is a very brilliant picture.
The feeling of it is so intense, there's movement here and you can tell something really big is happening. I adore Sally's pose too.
