CRITIQUE NOT DESIRED!!!! This picture has been in the works for quite a while... It gave me problems at every turn and this explosion and its suckiness irritates me to NO end at all!! Still, its the first explosion I've drawn in literally years. I guess I can't complain.
The pic has a lot of flaws. Where is Sonic and Sallys legs? Why is the explosion hovering? Why did I even TRY to draw this!! T_T WHY?!
I swear guys, I can not handle you pointing out the flaws of this picture right now unless you know HOW to fix the explosion. It's one of those pics I'm tired of looking at and I'm throwing it up, unsatisfied.

The elements of the picture on their own are all very nicely done, it's just putting them together that I think is the issue.
But you did good, don't feel bad! That and everything is a learning experience!

I do feel bad T_T I can't really help it... but I guess trying new things does not always equal success. I dunno, maybe I did the perspective lines wrong... Maybe I had them in the wrong places or something...

I have been there at times with my art, where it doesn't look like it's gonna work. I have a suggestion, you could draw a line behind Sonic's legs to create a leg for
Sally in the grass. Have it appear to vanish into the explosion. Maybe you can create some lines to help show more lines around the bottom part of the explosion. Make it looks like it's shaking the ground.

Fabulous display of intensity, I can feel the power of that explosion through the movement of the grass, Sally's hair and the fuzzies on Sonic. I personally think the explosion looks fantastic, but if you don't like that it's kinda hovering, then perhaps the next time you should try giving it more of an atom bomb shape. Then that big puff of smoke would look like it's coming from somewhere.

I think I get where the flaw is at. The perspective looks slightly warped with how either the explosion was rendered or the position Sonic and Sally are in. I'd like to draw out how to fix it exactly, but perspective isn't a strong point of mine.
All I can say is note the general direction of where the fur is blowing towards compared against where the blast force is coming from. I'd place the explosion further to the right if I wanted to keep the details with the fur.

I don't mind critique! I welcome it in most cases. But sometimes I get crits that make me scratch my head.
To be honest, if I could get an experiences artist to redline what I did wrong in this explosion, I'd be thrilled. But I already know whats wrong with the characters themselves, I was just tired of looking at the pic so I squiggled in grass and threw my hands up XD

There is no quick fixes when its done in ink, and I appreciate not hearing about it to be honest unless someone can tell me HOW to fix it, ya know? =/ I'm so tired of looking at it, I could seriously cry.
