CRITIQUE NOT DESIRED!!!! This picture has been in the works for quite a while... It gave me problems at every turn and this explosion and its suckiness irritates me to NO end at all!! Still, its the first explosion I've drawn in literally years. I guess I can't complain.
The pic has a lot of flaws. Where is Sonic and Sallys legs? Why is the explosion hovering? Why did I even TRY to draw this!! T_T WHY?!
I swear guys, I can not handle you pointing out the flaws of this picture right now unless you know HOW to fix the explosion. It's one of those pics I'm tired of looking at and I'm throwing it up, unsatisfied.

Truth be told, I actually don't have any of the problems you mentioned with this pic. The long grass would certainly obscure Sonic and Sally's legs, the explosion hovering is only sensical or not depending on what the cause is and since you don't specify it doesn't bother me, and the actual explosion looks freakin' fantastic as far as I'm concerned. Top that all off with your usual great expressions and some really impressive handling of wind effects on the characters and background, and I'd say you've got something very strong here.

For the explosion, I think you have the right idea, but too much of the streaks, and not enough billowing-firey-mass. Google explosion pictures and you'll see what I mean!

the hovering explosion could have been from a large, hovering eggman robot.

It's actually incredibly dynamic, the exploison and the force against Sonic and Sally are the best parts. Sure there could be legs, but why quibble? The impact of the image is strong strong, I didn't even notice the flaws until you mentioned them, that's the signature of a successful drawing, because NOTHING is perfect.

Your art always impresses me with the detail you put into each piece even some that dosen't have much in it is still quite impressive. This is quite amazeing especialy since it was done all by traditional art and not been done by some computer programs where you use a bunch of tools to make certain effects look realistic. I like digital art but something about traditional art done like this is just amazeing and shows the person who does it has a lot of talent.

You did a great job with the explosion itself and I'm really impressed with it. As it's done with ink, there's really not much you can do to fix it now, but I can tell you what I think the issue is so you know in the future. It's actually just one thing- would you like me to tell you or no?

I think your biggest issue here is perspective- the location of the explosion compared to where Sonic and Sally are seems off. Did you try using perspective lines while making this?
