Description
For a project in ACT I had to emulate my chosen artist's style. I chose Alphone Mucha, an awesome artist, and recreated his pic “moon” The project was real open. I pretty much had to use Alphonse Mucha’s obvious style in the pic while redoing it my own way. I used my char Zebora. The sketch surprisingly was drawn and finished during 6th period, but I lost the sketch in the scannerI hope I don’t get any horrible feedback, remember I was SUPPOSED to recreate one of his works with the changes I’ve done. There was NO copy and paste, I promise you. That’s probably obvious though.
THE ORIGINAL [link] I couldn’t find the pic I used for reference in coloring. This one is practically the same, it just has a different hue. Sorry, it’s the best I can find.
Cleaned and colored in PS7. I used PS7 brushes for the border, and many filters for the whole pic.

I'm not sure what it is but something draws me to this image. I like it.

In reading some of the comments I have to say that I actually like the nose. It fits the style. I agree that the colors are very very rich & you did a wonderful job overall.
The border doesn't quite seem to fit tho - It just doesn't fit in with the rest of the drawing style-wise. Not saying that it isn't gorgeous - it just throws me a bit. That's just MY opinion... I don't want to take ANYTHING away from your awesome piece.
I have added it to my favs! Great stuff! Art Nouveau RULZ!

Thank you for the comment i actually really agree with you about everything . you know, i did this piece years ago but it is still one of my most favorite. Maybe it's because it was my first intoduction to a long and happy relationship with the art nouveau style (i'm writing a 10 page research paper on it at the moment
). but yeah, it's so much fun to emulate mucha, and i plan to do more before i die. i saw some of your work and noticed a couple you did yourself
awesome. thanks again for the comment

I'd love to check out your paper when you finish - I love reading about all things Art Nouveau. My art is still a work in progress & I'm working on a piece right now that I feel will more accurately reflect the kind of work I want to do. I feel as though I've taken too many shortcuts in my past work so I'm not as jazzed about it as I used to be. I'll probably post my new piece to get some feedback from you guys. But thanks for the compliment.

I am always being rtold to draw a Mucha type series and I have always resisted...lack of motivation. Anyway, you have certainly inspired me with this one,.....although I still have not picke up the pencils....go figure.

AGGGHHHH! It is sooooo good, so close to Mucha and better in some ways--but the nose! Oh, the nose screws it up! If you get a chance, please go back and fix the nose, this is so close to perfect!
