Description
Well, I'm kinda happy about how this lil' mech is going in the Steel Nation tournament so I thought I would commemorate it by making a little model. I took a bunch of pictures and couldn't decide on the best ones so...I put just about all of them up ^^Also, this is the only colour picture of the pseudo, so I thought it was high time I put these pics up, just in case one of my opponents wants to do their entry in colour ^^
Luckily I had a few little bits of scenery lying around to put in the background.
The model is made of super sculpey and painted with citadel paints. It's about 4 inches high.

Age doesn't really have that much to do with it ^^ And I had a bit of a head start. I've been doing it since I was about 10...and I've been at about the same standard since I was 16 ^^

I've only just noticed the models you've put out - They're all looking really good. I've only done a little bit of sculpting and have had nightmares with greenstuff.
Really like the way you've painted this - the blending/shading on the legs is spot on - Nice photoshop skills too!

Oh yeah, greenstuff is terrible, I hardly ever use it XD
You should try something called super sculpey, it's much easier to use ^^

Oh yeah, I use something called super sculpey. It's like this placticine stuff that goes hard in the oven. I made it fairly small, it's only about 4 inches high ^^

I don't, but I can make a reasonably educated guess based on the difficulties of doing so... that is unless I've screwed up on the size of the model. ... STOP MAKING ME DOUBT MYSELF!!! XD

well. two completely different ball games there XD It would look like a large action figure next to Jazz, or a psuedo playset XD

Yay, lol x3
Imagine if that were Pseudo's next opponent? XD
How flexible IS the Pseudo model?
Just a thought there, seeing the blade effect added in, you could make a pretty cool battle scene like this if you made it with the models acting it out! XD
I bet no-one else would try it either! x3

On a scale of 1 to 'this is really frigging awesome' I thinkthis scores a 'this is really frigging awesome'. There is something to be said about mechanical designs that dare I say can even be interrpruted as sexy?
I belive the real grabber about the design of this mecha is the fact that it has a very slick, and lithe like feel to what would normally be a world of bulk in comparison to a lot of Mechs. What I mean is I like the fact of how its chest seems to shrink down into a spine that connects with the hips with no obvious belly. And small little 'weapon' arms that can extend into BLADES OF LIGHT!
The curves of the armour and even the distinct dome head adds to a very interesting detail and alien look and even the legs have a bit of a bigger proportion to the upper body like I remember you telling me on one of my old mech designs you commented on.
Lastly I think that you brought a pencil concept into a shaded and textured reality is actually really neat. Keep it up

kitfox-crimson In reply to Fazar [2008-03-11 09:54:53 +0000 UTC]
thanks XD yeah its hard to tell if a model is going to look right when it is about fifteen sculpey pieces on the table. I sorta got lucky that everything ended up in proportion ^^ And yes I wanted the arms to be small, because the true form of the arms are really the blades that are only there some of the time ^^
I wanted to go for a more alien looking thing, because I am thinking of using this...or a variation on it, for my most epic story ever ^^

I Love Epic.
But yeah I like to think a bit of luck is a bit of skill as well. You've always been an amazing artistic person so even if your object is in many little peices its no surprise it turned out as well
