Will the galvanized steel wire works well? I've just bought it....
There is a little.... wat should this called?
I don't think that is rust, but it's look kinda....dim.
I would like to make a ear cuff with this wire, to make it brighter, should i polish it? using wax? or do u hav any suggestion?

Sorry for my lame English......

Nice tutorial! I've never managed the no words approach. Gotta work on that

I think a plainer background might show off the detail better though.

Nice tutorial!!! Easy n clear!!!
Question!!! About the wire, what material u prefer to use ?? How to prevent the wire get rusty? Or what material could withstand the rust??

kitica In reply to snowny [2009-04-01 18:42:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

All the time I use silverplated wire. Sometimes when I don't have this wire I use inox wire. I prevent the stuff to get rusty - i put them in a box and in my armoire. They are safe

What do you use to bend the wire?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kitica In reply to dynasourX [2009-01-11 09:23:38 +0000 UTC]

to what? :cunfused:

dynasourX In reply to kitica [2009-01-12 10:26:22 +0000 UTC]

To bend it..like, do you use pliers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kitica In reply to dynasourX [2009-01-12 19:27:39 +0000 UTC]

off course I use pliers. to cut, to modelate the wire, but some job you can't do with them, you have to use the fingers

This is a nice tutorial, but I was wondering if you would mind making a necklace one, showing how to wrap tumbled gemstones. I can't seem to find an accurate one anywhere. They basically just tells me to 'wrap it' and then it's over without giving any pointers or anything at all.

kitica In reply to Yatagratsu [2008-05-06 16:52:44 +0000 UTC]

hm... I'll try to take some shots when I'll make the wire wrapped necklace next time.

But this will take time

So in the middletime.. you'll have to try again, try again, try again

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. But it's so hard when you don't have anything to go off of and have bad eyes like myself.

Ooo.. pretties. Maybe you should've used a plainer background, though. It's a little hard to make out what you're doing for the first few steps.

The end result, though, is quite awesome.

I've made this pictures for fun... few weeks later I decided to put it all together and make a tutorial...

One day maybe I'll make one better
