Hi,
I'm currently Importing Models into the Battletech PC Game, Is there a 3D model available for this? I'd so love to put the stone rhino into the game.
Fantastic Work!
Thanks,
Colobos

It was available in MekTek's MW2 project,Β iirc, it accumulated heat like a spongeΒ :/

A little though isn't that a bulky build? At least the Mrk II iirc.

Perhaps it is a later design used by the Steel Talons.

Reminds me personally of the destroid monster from macross... which I love.

The antique Destroid Monster *shrugs* it might look so yet both are far beside each other. But the Destroid Monster has a cool design *hides*
Nice lineart in your gallery btw

Very nice! I always loved this mech in Battletech. Not one I used all the time but it was still a good mech.

And it can withstand a great deal of pounding! Thou the basic config isΒ΄nt a faved one for me, it tends to run too hot.
Nay IΒ΄m a Bushwacker pilot all the way, donΒ΄t care if IΒ΄m up against 100 tonners, I ll outrun Β΄em, and bite Β΄em from (a secure) distance.

When it comes to mechs.. I used to love to use the Awesome and the Masakari. Although there are a lot of mechs I liked to use so don't hold me to that.

Good shape going on there, the shavings provide a fun effect too. The TRO was the 3055, which aside from the cover and a few color pages was the worst art I think I've ever seen... for the game anyway.

TDBK In reply to Karyudo-DS [2008-10-20 04:57:01 +0000 UTC]
I agree. Some really crappy looking mechs and some crappy poses. I got it from a friend back in the day. I would have never actually bought that TRO.

Heard the revised version was slightly better. Although I haven't seen a physical copy. Pretty hard to find that stuff out in the real world anymore.

Thanks for the info on the TRO version, mate! Updating AC accordingly ... and youΒ΄r correct about the TRO being the worst ... the worts assembly of Β΄mechs, that is!
Only the Behemouth is acceptable thou its config is a little heat-collector.

I didn't mind all the mechs. The cover and the color IIC pages though was the only good art in the entire book. The rest just looked so ugly. Although I think for that reason they eventually redid the book if I'm not mistaken, but I never saw the remake if so.

oups! I did not want to put words into your mouth, sorry.
And I did neither knew of a remake of it either, thou an errata was posted in CBT

As always, Google it. I'd heard of a remake but that was it. If you look for the 3055 Upgrade you can find some info. I even found the upgrade Behemoth on camospecs.com which does make me curious what happened to all the other mechs.

A very interesting site for camodesigns. The Strone Rhino does not look like what I am used to, at all.

I like the site, almost makes me wish I still painted. The Rhino though I sorta like, but both are acceptable. I'm curious what everything else was upgraded to in a way

yeah but the figures are way to small for decent details, and having painted over +100 RPG miniatures ... shjesus ... It takes to much time, and btw IΒ΄m more or less linked to the PCΒ΄s 3D/PS wares and ... [drifting back in time ... ] no dont get me on that road again, no more figure painting for me!
They got a mayor brush-up in the upgrade, I quess? The text I have read on the subject looks as they did a mighty job. (IΒ΄m not all certain yet, that I dont have the TRO in my hands)
IΒ΄m more curios of what S&T are up to now, thereΒ΄s too silent from that part!

I used to love painting, unlike 3D modeling I can show it off without the aid of a computer. Warhammer 40k figures were some of my favorites though far as painting since you could customize them, mechs were okay but not as creative. Oh well back to painting my WHIIC

I wouldn't doubt it, the Clans have always been inspired by other models -- especially the Marauder. Look at the Mad Cat.
π: 0 β©: 1
Osprey-Hawk In reply to prdarkfox [2008-06-26 03:56:27 +0000 UTC]
The Madcat was originally a Clan Design which they themselves improved upon several times

Marauder arms, Catapult missile racks and legs... the Inner Sphere didn't call it the Mad Cat for no reason.

Osprey-Hawk In reply to prdarkfox [2008-06-26 09:32:26 +0000 UTC]
The arms and racks are understandable, but the legs resemble the Vulture's (Mad Dog)

prdarkfox In reply to Osprey-Hawk [2008-06-26 19:29:27 +0000 UTC]
The legs used by both the Mad Dog and the Timber Wolf are one and the same.
Still, they had to pull inspiration from somewhere, and they look closest to the Catapult out of all the 3025 generation units.
