Do you use some kind of skeleton for your images? or can you just see it in your head and go from there?

Indeed, the skeleton we use in animation. My students are not allowed to build from outline at all.

books? hum, not really. I would recommend spending lots of time in the stock gallery here on DA, for posing and correct anatomy. Nothing better than working from life.
