~~~Legolas P.o.V~~~

A rhythmic tapping reached my ears and slowly woke me from a quite and peaceful sleep. My ears twitched at the small noise and curiosity soon grabbed a hold of me, forcing my eyes to open. Despite the major protests my body screamed at me, I stiffly sat up and looked in the direction of the noise. The light from the sun steadily placed a headache on me, and I squinted my eyes to clear the ever-present exhaustion from them. I spot (y/n) sitting not to far off, sitting by the water and tapping out a repetitive rhythm with a few stray twigs she happened to find. She was gently humming along with the beat and slightly grinning. She noticed me sit up and proceeded to hastily drop the twigs and run over to my side to help me sit up properly. I weakly smiled at her help and groaned at the pain my entire body was burdened with.

A sharp sting of pain shot up through my arm and I fell back on to the hard ground, clutching my arm as if it was a lifeline, and (y/n) hovering over me, worry clear in her (e/c) eyes. I winced at the pain that refused to pass on, instead growing in strength every passing minute. At the edge of my hearing, Arod has whinnying and pounding the earth flat with his hooves. (y/n) was crying out my name as my groans turned into screams of unbearable pain. I looked at my hand to see swirling ink-black curling around my skin.(y/n)'s cries fell silent as she stared in shock at my face. She reached out to touch it, but as soon as she did she recoiled it, holding it to her chest as if I had burned her.

~~~~ Reader P.o.V~~~~~

The sight had rendered me speechless. The black arrow dissolved, soaking into his skin and spreading across his skin like it was water. He closed his eyes and screamed in pain, his face being swallowed by the black. I reached out to touch it, to see if it was all real. The mere touch burned my flesh and I quickly drew it back, cradling it with my other hand. He looked into my eyes pleadingly, silently, desperately calling out for help. I became even more frightened as his sapphire blue eyes faded to a yellow-orange hue.

His screams subsided, the pain seemingly fading away alongside it. An expression of terror reflected in his eyes as he studied his hands. He gasped as he felt a hard pressure against his bottom lip. He reached up to feel it, and found himself finding the touch of two canines protruding out of his upper jaw. I reached out to touch his shoulder, to comfort him in ay way that I could, but as soon as I brushed my fingers against him, he snapped. He jerked up and smacked my hand away, a deep growl emanating from his throat. His eyes darkened and the whites faded to black as he dragged himself up to his feet, a jagged dagger clenched in his darkened hand. He moved almost mechanically, as if something was controlling his body like a puppeteer. My eyes widened as he glided towards me, slowly raising the dagger above his head. I stumbled back, not knowing where my feet were being placed. My foot caught on a root that protruded from the ground and fell back. The back of my head connected with a stone, and the edges of my vision darkened and blurred as a dull pain throbbed throughout my skull. And soon, my consciousness slipped away as my eyes slid shut, encasing me in oblivious darkness.

As if an invisible set of stings yanked at my limbs, I felt myself rise up and stalk towards (Y/n), with a cold dagger pressed into the palm of my hand. I tried desperately to stop, to protect her from harm. But no matter what I did, body acted on its own and kept moving towards (y/n). She tripped on a root and fell backwards, audibly smacking the back of her head and a stone. I saw through a blurry haze in her eyes that she was slowly loosing consciousness. A trickle of blood seeped through her hair and into the ground, staining the grass. Anger bubbled up inside of me, and I yanked against the chains that held me locked up inside of my own mind, that prevented me from controlling my own body. The chains creaked against the strain of my new found anger that blinded me from risks. With a definite crack that reverberated throughout the empty space as the chain that binded me snapped. Small screws and chain links lay scattered around me as I hung my head in the attempt of catching my breath and saving the energy I had spent.

I shakily stood, the chains rattling. I stumbled blindly around the empty space, searching for an exit. The dark floor dissolved under my sore feet and I fell through. Wind whistled in my ears as I fell, not knowing where I'd end up, if I would hit the bottom, or if I would fall freely forever, with only my thoughts to accompany me. A twisted and spun in the dark and a light crept up in the corner of my eye. I looked down, or what I had assumed was down, and saw a crack of light. Whatever it truly was, I saw it as a sign of hope, a sign of a good outcome. It crept ever closer and I closed my eyes, falling freely. I slowed, and was simply floating. I peeked ope one eye, then the other, and saw the darkness dissolving away into white. A shadow caught my eye, and I turned to see the silhouette of a person walked with confidence on a unseen floor. It halted in front of me and I could distinctly spot out that it was a girl. It's (e/c) eyes shone out in contrast against the dark skin, and its hair swung freely in a non-existent breeze. The Shadow Girl held out her hand, and I tentatively reached out and grasped it. It felt dry, yet fluid like, and held a burning temperature, that also felt cool to the touch. I felt life and control pouring into me again.
