Description
This is a collection of files that can be plugged into the Iray "Environment Map" channel to produce skies, ground, and environmental lighting. The files come in several different formats and have all been tested with Iray. Please take them, have fun with them, and make sure to experiment with the different render settings for Iray. (More on that in the readme.)These files are free to use, no credit required, for commercial or non-commercial work. If you use one or more and feel like showing me the result, please do, I'd love to see what people do with these.
EDIT: I was just playing around with the new beta release, and discovered my instructions are no longer correct. Now the image must be loaded into the Background channel, under Environment>Type>Backdrop, otherwise only the lighting will show up. I'll fix the readme. Suppose that's what I get for releasing these before the new Studio release is finished...

You're welcome! I forgot to fix the readme... if you want the background visible, it has to be loaded in as a background under the environment tab now, otherwise it's just lighting.

Yes, with the new update, the image goes in as a backdrop and the Environment Map. Otherwise it won't show up.

Do this work in Mac? and do they install themselves or do I need to place them in an specific folder? Thanks

I haven't used a Mac in forever, so I can't remember which file types they read. But there's at least one .tif in there, and I know that's Mac-compatible.
As for installing, these files can go wherever you want to put them. The images have to be manually loaded into the Environment Map channel, so put them where you can find them easily.
