Because favourites are nice, but they don't tell the artist why you like or love their piece of art. A click of a button can't give the personal touch and interaction with the artist that a comment can in my opinion.Dedicated to all those artists that, while they appreciate their favourites, feel like they aren't getting much feedback on their work. I think they deserve it, don't you?

But i prefer to comment only when i have something meaninful to say. When i do not comment is because i have nothing meaningful to say.
Same is for people that fave my art, i mean, i prefer when comments are meaningful. In other case faves only is fine.

I totally relate to this. Sometimes I get a ton of faves, but almost zero feedback, so when something gets no favorites, I'm wondering what I did wrong.

I agree 100% with this wonderful stamp!
It is infuriating when you spend hours, even days or more on a piece and all you get are a ton of favs with hardly any comments at all, even when you clearly state you want comment feedback on the art in question. It's also annoying when someone favs your entire gallery and everything you upload, including the things in your scraps like WIPS, old works and screenshots, and even have the indecency to fav stuff that you clearly stated you didn't want people to fav (I've done everything from stating it in the title, artist description, and even slapping a big fat 'do not fav' sign over the art itself.)
The people using DA nowadays are becoming increasingly lazy and don't realize that in order for an artist to grow, they need to get comments/critique. A fav by itself doesn't help artists improve, and you don't truly know the motive behind the fav either. Does the person really like the work, or are they just doing it to get pageviews?
Over the years I've been using DA (across different accounts) The number of good, useful comments has decreased rapidly...
Sorry for the rant, but that's how I feel about this ongoing problem

I appreciate comments and favourites whether they are separate or not. My biggest concern is when I get a certain number of views and nobody favourites the work or leaves a comment for me to properly improve. With favourites, I know that I'm perhaps doing something right but with nothing to go on, it makes me want to tear out my hair sometimes. ):

They feel that someone actually likes their work, but, most of the time, its just a collector, with a kabillion faves, without a gallery. . . without a care for the artist. . . . . . okay?

Although, some comments can be short, stupid, insincere and just blatant advertisements. . .
So if I do get a comment, I hope it would be unlike those ^

I agree with this stamp. I get way more faves than comments, and I would love to know why the people liked a particular deviation.

This message goes to all the people who just fav and run all the time. Commenting on what you liked about the artwork isn't that damn hard to do, seriously. I'm so sick of the excuses those people dish out like, "oh ,well, a fav is good enough" or "I was too amazed at the artwork, so I was left speechless" or " but I can't think of what to say at times" so they just fav and run

I always remember to comment on other people's work, because I know I would want other people to do the same for me. sadly, it dosn't really turn out that way most of the times....XD

Very much agree, especially if the artist is LOOKING for critique and comments.
It's hard for someone to learn through JUST one person saying it's good or something.
I'd rather have tons of comments and no faves, than tons of faves and no comments.

I don't mind when i get favs but i would prefer comments as well and not just ones from my friends because i already know they like my work. I would like a little input from an outside force.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate getting a comment on a piece that I worked really hard on. And not just a simple "lol" or "cool" comment, either because those are almost as lazy as faves. I like long and thought-out feedback, but if that's too much, I don't mind a simple "good job!". Anyway, this stamp says it all. Thanks for making it.

A lot of people just don't have much to say... I don't mind if people just fave. It doesn't mean someone is fave bombing. Like, look at my stats. 501 favorites and over 4,000 comments- but I rarely comment when I fave.

I have a deviation with well over 300 favorites...and only 20 comments.
Recently, one with 40 and six comments.

I agree! But not just "I like it", having in depth feedback is the most rewarding; although, I DO appreciate all the fav's I get too
