~Hopstock 's interpretation is great, go have a look. It's a much better b&w conversion than I was able to achieve with my mucking around; the elevated contrast nicely accentuates the strong lines I was trying to capture in the original photograph.

motif and concept are nice. and it's true, ihe picture looks better in b&w ... after some work in photoshop. If you want I can submit my b&w version from your photo in my scraps for a view.

Might be better in b&w because the colours are pretty drab.

Oddly enough, I thought exactly the same until I actually tried it in B&W. It looks even more drab

Yes. I suppose that's really the problem with it. It's an interesting concept but the result is a little uninspiring.
