ANOTHER TRUE STORY. We're helping 2 people from Australia who are chilling out in Canada, and we chat~ They told me this, and I couldn't believe it!

Its funny how its common knowledge amongst Canadians that maple syrup comes from maple trees..... its SO WEIRD to find people who don't know this fact!! (although a lot of the generic maple syrup is 98% sugar and water :/
the REAL stuff comes in cans and bottles and mostly from Quebec and is SO DELICIOUS on fresh snow. C'ESTMAGNIFIIIIQUE~~~.)

Oh thbbbht, I blame the lack of reading in today's kids...or maybe they just forgot. There is literature about pioneer days that includes tapping maple trees for their sap, boiling it down, etc. Vermont and New Hampshire have acres of maples.

lol I'm American and I thought this was common knowledge... but I suppose it helps that in kindergarten we went to this place and saw them making the syrup and then we had the fresh syrup on some pancakes... but I just ate the syrup coz the pancakes were gross but still. XD;

I knew all along where maple syrup came from. Really now, isn't it obvious enough from the name? I honestly didn't think that there were people who DIDN'T know that! And I'm American!

I'm surprised a lot of people don't know where maple syrup comes from o_o

I mean, stereotypically speaking, people know there exists maple syrup and maple leaves (because Canada is signatured with a maple leaf on its flag). Leaves come from trees, so put two and two together and maple syrup comes from a tree. If not, where else would maple syrup come from? XD Tree sap isn't that gross or weird, is it?
