Final kitty for tonight, have a cute and puffy Cherryfall! ;3;ΒFound this pose on google and I felt it just fit Cherry's character so well I had to use it~ As for her looks - I don't think a lot has changed regarding her design. She is still a ginger tabby with amber eyes. Meaning that for once in a long time, we have a genetically correct little kitty here, hooray. Cherry gets one red gene per parent, has lots of longhaired relatives meaning coat length isn't an issue, and since Berrynose is no longer dilute, she gets to be dark ginger rather than cream. Yep we're good.
I went and made her a very dark red cat, mostly because dark red classic tabbies are totally gorgeous and I wanted one - in my head Cherry has always been a classic tabby (like, the blotched pattern being like cherry leaves or whatever) and honestly I was a liiiil' bit salty over her suffix 'fall'. It was just so boring, and almost made her name fall flat right there. -.-
Other than that, she's a Birman for all intents and purposes (without a point coat she won't be accepted by any associations but who cares about that??) that she's inherited through her father from her granny Daisy. I just wanted a kid in the family line looking like Daisy 'kay? And as for her character; well, Cherryfall just happens to be the ONLY character of her generation I am even remotely fond of Ivypool aside, meaning yes I like her a lot. ^^

I like her, Hollyleaf (even if she has issues), Ivypool... yeah.... that's it if you don't Lilyheart until this sixth series. At least Sparkpaw and Alderpaw are likeable. (though I like Spark way more.)

I can't say I know canon Cherryfall very well, seeing as I have not and do not intend to read The Apprentice's Quest, but she is one of the main-ish characters in my own fanfiction (under the name of Cherryflower) and I absolutely love her! She looks absolutely beautiful with your design, so fluffy and precious! I tend to imagine her as a Somali cat personally, but I think your design for her still looks just gorgeous! Ahh, I love all the fluff!!

Me neither; excepting her apprentice days and her vaguely appearing in my own ficlets all I know of Cherry comes from her wikia page, which showed she's not half bad for an Erin creation - which says a lot. xD (But I must admit, I MUCH prefer your name for her; I am so utterly tired of the -fall suffix I can't say it enough) And I'm glad you like my rendition of her, thank you very much!

Cherryfall is awesome. <3 One of the few current gen cats with an actual personality (and a likeable one, to boot! that hardly ever happens!). I love how mature she is. ;w; And caring and smart. She didn't even go totally gaga over Sol like everyone else did (which is a win in my book). I love her more than her brother who did NOT act like himself in The Apprentice's Quest at ALL (seriously? Molewhisker being quiet, mature, responsible, and intelligent?? That's not the Molewhisker I've been reading).Β
Speaking of which, TPQ was surprisingly better than I thought it'd be. Definitely better than a lot of the OotS books, anyway, with a mostly more enjoyable main cast. I LOVE Alderpaw so much <33 He has anxiety and he portrays it pretty well. I have anxiety, too, and found myself relating to him a LOT. Cherryfall was great, too, and I loved her scenes. Her brother can fuck right off. Sparkpaw was okay (I felt bad for Alderpaw because of how super awesome Sparkpaw was and it overshadowed poor Alderpaw; I just wanted to hug him ;; ). I hate the resolution for SkyClan, though. >.> If there's not a better resolution for SkyClan in future books, I'm gonna be pissed. I'm not a super huge fan of SkyClan (talk about some of the most boring books ever), but they deserve better than what they got. :/

Considering BOTH her parents went gaga over Sol that made the whole argument even better~ xD I haven't read her since the fourth series, but I admit from what I've seen on the wikia and such, she sounds downright great compared so several other, faceless characters. And yeaah, now when you mention it that Molewhisker stuff, I mean what the heck?Β
Oh, but that's good to hear. Hopefully the rants I'll be getting won't be overly bad, hahah~ I see several people who're already in love with Alderpaw (I have no opinion on him as I have no clue who he is, but I'll admit some of what turned me off the series was the fact he had to go and be a med-cat apprentice. I just don't deal with that anymore, really. -.-) Ah yeah, why is it that compared to all the crap the clans in general go through, SkyClan ALWAYS manages to get in even more shit?? They've had like, what, three generations' worth of peace and now it's shit come again? -.-'

Yes, it did. xD Sol was interesting in TPoT, but OotS ruined him completely.
She was great in TAQ. Like I said, better than most of the other characters, especially her brother. Most everyone was flat. And I still hate that Spiderleg got no mention. He fucking died and he was a well-known character, yet his death isn't mentioned until book 2. >.> That's buuuuuuullshit. Know what else is buuuuuuuullshit? How flattened Squirrelflight's character got. Her attitude and spunk were nowhere to be found. ;; They ruined my bae.
Well, to be fair, Alderpaw became a med cat apprentice was because he was to help out SkyClan. Too bad the book decided to drop that towards the end and now he's a med cat just cuz. I do see a bit of a plot advantage to it, though. He had a lot of ship tease with Needlepaw, a ShadowClan apprentice. It would be so awesome if we finally had a forbidden romance with a different resolution. ;w; Like, Littlecloud dies before he can fully train his apprentice, so Alderpaw has to stay with ShadowClan temporarily to finish the apprentice's training, continues a secret relationship with Needlepaw, gets her pregnant, then stays in ShadowClan to be with her and the kits, but (like with Yellowfang) he has to pretend to not be their father. But he stays anyway to be with his secret mate and kits. And then, to add to the drama, the secret is eventually blown, Alderpaw almost loses his place as a med cat, but he manages to convince StarClan that, under certain conditions, med cats can have mates and kits.
I'm reading Moth Flight's Vision now and I get why they were against med cats having a mate and kits, I do. But... well, Moth Flight didn't exactly handle it well. She left her kits with a sick cat when there were other cats available (seriously, she waited for Dust Muzzle or Spotted Fur to offer instead of just straight out asking them, wtf?), Β for example. There's also the fact that med cats were a new thing then, so that left her with more responsibility than the average med cat. It could work better now.

Look at this bab!! I'm in your corner concerning Cherryfall. I told you that I wouldn't be reading The Apprentice's Quest, but I gave in (remind me to rant to you about that later on skype LOL), but one character I loved besides Alderpaw (surprisingly!) was Cherryfall. She was Alderpaw's sister's mentor, but she had tons of screentime, and she was a really great cat. She had a lot of pep in her that made me adore her, too, and I liked the relationship she formed with Sparkpaw...however annoying Sparkpaw was within the first few chapters ;u; (again, remind me of that rant :'D)
Anyway! I'm glad that Cherryfall was able to stay true to form here and is very similar, if not canonically almost exactly like, her description in the books. I agree that the pose seems fitting for her, especially after reading more of her in the latest book >w< I like that she has a bit of fluff to her, too, here! What a cutie pie

YES someone else that loved Alderpaw! <3 I am totally in love with his character; he portrayed having anxiety almost perfectly so he was super relateable and likeable. He and Cherryfall were the only characters I enjoyed reading in that book (and it really annoyed me how ooc Molewhisker was; I'm convinced he's been replaced by a changeling and nobody has realized it yet).
Needlepaw was somewhat enjoyable; NeedlexAlder, not as much. It's not a bad pairing -- certainly better than the forbidden romances we've had in TPoT and OotS -- but it feels kinda forced. Still I should be glad that at least this pairing is somewhat developed which is more than I can say for most forbidden romances in this series. I do like the possible plot point, though, but with our luck in this series this plot potential won't come into full view. ThunderClan has 3 med cats now, ShadowClan has 2-ish (with Littlecloud's apprentice showing up in the next book) but I honestly can't see Littlecloud surviving long enough to teach his apprentice everything he needs to know. So it'd be awesome if Alderpaw ended up becoming a ShadowClan med cat. ;w; He'd have the standard forbidden romance with Needlepaw, but I don't recall ever having a forbidden romance between a male med cat and a female warrior. If she had kits, it'd still be super easy to hide. But that probably won't happen because it's not dramatic enough. >.>
Oops, I kinda rambled there. xD; I just don't see many people who like Alderpaw so I had to gush a bit.

But oh my goodness yes. I adored everything about Alderpaw. I know some people got annoyed with him, and said they were sick of him and all his self-doubt, and they wanted him to "start to grow," but like...they clearly don't have anxiety :'D Alderpaw showed exactly how my own anxiety disorder is: it's messy and complicated and makes me nervous as well to the point where I feel ill (like he did in some points) because I was just so scared and unsure of myself, as well as what the reactions of others around me would be to whatever I said. I think Cherryfall would have actually made a better mentor to Alderpaw than Molewhisker...Molewhisker reminded me of all the adults I've faced in my life that told me to "get over it" and "you're just shy - once you start talking in front of all those people, you'll be okay." Then they got angry when I panicked ;w; That seemed like Molewhisker to me, so I disliked him from the start...I do understand him getting impatient with Alderpaw eventually, but seriously??? Ugh. At least he was understanding when Alderpaw changed positions...granted, didn't exactly make me like him any more, considering everyone was kinda ganging up on Alderpaw (why did no one ask his opinion? UGH I mean, everyone says medicine cats get StarClan-sent visions, but does everyone forget about Firestar? He had visions all the time.)Β Granted, I do think the life of a medicine cat mightΒ help Alderpaw. I hate how Jayfeather treated him, though -- especially that scene when Alderpaw was so proud of himself, and felt sure for maybe the first time ever, when he treated Cherryfall's injured paw...I felt sick to my stomach with how Jayfeather lectured and belittled him. Alderpaw did everything right, but Jayfeather still made him feel like crap D:
Anyway, see, I didn't enjoy Needlepaw at all. I admit that might partially be because I saw hints of her and Alderpaw being a thing, and so I forcefully ejected that XD Even before I thought that Needlepaw might be a thing with him (I thought maybe that other ShadowClan apprentice was a possibility; the one who said something that made the others uneasy, but they all purred fake laughter? I can't remember her name), I didn't like her, though. She seems very pushy and in-your-face, but that might just be me projecting my own anxiety (again) into Alderpaw, and if someone was like that to me irl, I'd hate it. The ShadowClan plot line is extremely interesting!! My only thing is that I can't imagine Bramblestar letting his (maybe) last and youngest son leave for a whole other Clan...granted, if StarClanΒ told him to, he would (can you hear the disdain in my voice in the word 'StarClan'? ahaha), so there's that. I'm wondering if Leafpool is the one to leave. There's a lot of possibilities!

Yeah, anxiety doesn't really go away. xD You might get better at getting past it (socializing even though you're anxious about, forcing yourself to do things that make you anxious, etc), but it's always there under the surface, making you feel like shitting bricks every time you do something that triggers your anxiety. So Alderpaw was a breath of fresh air: FINALLY a character correctly portraying their mental illness! That's one thing that annoyed me with Mothflight's Vision; she had ADD, but as time went on, her ADD only showed up when the plot needed it to, otherwise she may as well not have had it at all. Alderpaw's anxiety is consistent, so props to the Erins for that.
UGH, I did not like Molewhisker in this book at all. Not only was OOC, but like you said, he was not a good mentor to Alderpaw at all. And he seemed almost relieved that Alderpaw would cease to be his apprentice.
That's one of the issues I take with this book; the writing, like so many Warriors books before it, has the characters gang up on the protagonist to add drama and to make said protagonist super sympathetic to the audience. Dovewing and Bluestar both got hit with this and while I love both characters, the narrative spoiled them rotten. At least Alderpaw doesn't wallow in self-pity over being ganged up on, though (he did indulge in self-pity, but it was towards his own issues rather than getting all pissy because nobody was nice to him). That's a plus, and another reason why I love him so much. <3
Needlepaw was... okay. There have been worse characters, and she does seem to have some insecurities about herself that cause her to act the way she does as a front to hide that. Plus, I'm a sucker for romance, so I like ship tease like that. xD
Well, if Alderpaw acts on his own, Bramblestar doesn't have much of a choice. And Bramblestar might be more lenient if he thinks Alderpaw's move to ShadowClan is only temporary. There's also what you said: If Alderpaw at least believes StarClan chose him as a med cat so that he could help ShadowClan, Bramblestar would be more willing. And it very much could be that that IS the reason StarClan chose him as a med cat. I mean, Clans are only supposed to have 2 med cats, Leafpool and Jayfeather are meant to stay as med cats and show no signs of croaking anytime soon, and ShadowClan is close to having no competent med cat at all. It makes sense, at least to me.
Can I break off of that and rant about how SkyClan got no definitive resolution? I mean, seriously? All that trouble, all those books talking about it, rebuilding it, showcasing it, and suddenly they're disbanded AGAIN and the book just shrugs like, "Oh, well, shit happens, let's go home and forget they existed, ignore all the SkyClan tie-ins because SkyClan don't matter no more". Just... UUUUUGH

Cherryfall's name was announced in Brambleclaw's Storm. We had a Leafpool and a Leaftail. We also had a Petalfur and a Rosepetal. All of one cat with either of those surnames.Β
A warriors name generator would sound better. I swear the Hunters just get attached to surnames and use them whenever.Β

Thanks - but yeah, lots of suffixes are very used these days, but there is a tricky line between being "original" and "weird". Not saying -fall is under weird, I'm thinking more like -slip and -snout. But it's just, Thunderclan already had two -fall in their ranks, BirchFALL and BlossomFall, that I think it gets too much. On the other hand they had no -petal or -leaf (excluding Leafpool but that was her prefix instead)

there are certainly some odd ones out there and i think its clear that the erins are slowly running out of names to use that sound decent, at least that's what ive been picking up on. I mean there is only so many times you can use a certain prefix or suffix. Β
