Well, it's kind of stated during the story once or twice 'bout that stripe, guess it kinda struck. And he does look good with it, although a Whitewing with actual wings would've been a bit weird. xD

Well incest in animals like cats doesn't really have bad effects on the offspring, and real cats who are in the same family will mate all the time.
Then again, let's face it, the Erins blunder about and fail at a lot of things in the books.

Yes, well, it is proven that felines can go a longer time with incest in the family lines before certain gene defects start showing, but too much will lead to infertility, health issues and physical defects. Just think about all the "pure-breds" in this world, who have inheritable issues like cataracts, hip dysplasia and heart failure... while nature tries to avoid inbreeding as much as is naturally possible, the way we humans play around with genes are actually much worse, because we do it with intent.
But anyway, yeeaaaah, Erins you suck bigtime. When you count more failures than anything in a series, it's just too much...

I think this is actually cute (I like White x Willow more) but I think they do seem to be a nice short time couple and the good thing is that Graystripe was born healthy and with no conditions usually in interbreeding.
It's odd that Willowpelt never showed much attention to her son though

Yeah, it could be because the Erins didn't conclude that Willowpelt was his mother until the first series was over... technically, in the first series, she never was his mother. It'w weird.

More or less they didn't want the younger fans to learn that some pairings that happen are siblings (but of course half of ThunderClan is related). Dustpelt is Ferncloud's uncle and yet they're mates and well you get it.
Tell the truth, I think this was something even they weren't aware of, they probably didn't consider his parenting until after The Darkest Hour came out and some person must of asked who his parents were. Willowpelt was the only gray she-cat and they probably used Patchpelt just because, in the first series we didn't even know they were related.

And yeah, the whole clan is literally related in one way or another. That's why I'm such a heavy arguer when it comes to Lionheart may be the father of Brackenfur and company...because if they are the children of Whitestorm, it would mean that BrackenfurxSorreltail is a sibling pairing...Erins, you don't want that ey?
