Description
I made this for the beautiful scrap paper project (I'm number 103). I really like how the bird came out, I used one of my favorite paper scraps for it.I added some shading and a few little leaves to the branch. I want to keep the image as simple as possible to give max. impact to the bird, and I 'm very happy with the way it is now.
Oh, and apologies on behalf of my poopy scanner, this looks so much better in person.

I love birds too, with the sort of birds that people don't usually like (pigeons and sparrows) being my favourite.

That could be becuase the bird image I used as refrence for my picture is a public stock image, and I know for a fact that I can't be the only one using it.

I just noticed that I didn't mention using a stock photo as refrence (bird anatomy is surprisingly complicated), so it's easy to think it's unique.

still, really nice image! i can never find decent stock images to use anywhere! i love painting birds but that collage technique is beaaautiful

It took me a while to find this one too. It's sad how it's so hard to find decent stock, you have to wade though a lot of stuff before you find even one usable picture.
I just love birds full stop, no matter how they're rendered.
