Description
Looks a bit horrible in the background and some other parts too... Β°-Β° I think Clamp would sue me if they saw this. XDThe image is once again from 2007. ^^ I had to draw Chii after seeing the anime... was about time since I read the manga ages ago. Little Chii is so cute.
Medium: Copic multiliner 0.05 (sepia), Copic marker, water colour

Wow, I drew this picture such a long time ago, but if I remember correctly, then I did use the markers first and added some watercolour on top in places. You can work with markers on pretty any kind of paper, so mixing them with other media isn't a problem.

I'd have to ask first, what paper are you using? Are you using marker proof fine-liners? How thick are your outlines when you start to colour? It's usually one of these points, if not a combination. ^^

i use marker paper (i have some of different brands) and i use copic multiliner and neopico multiliner (also marker proof) and normally i do only one single line with liners in size 0.05 or 0.1 never use a bigger one

Would you have an example where I can see some smudging?
Judging from what you wrote you shouldn't smudge the outlines at all. Do you always carefully erase the pencil lines?

and i use a lighttable so i dont have erase on the markerpaper, i do my sketch on a other, normal paper

Ah, ok, I am just trying to cancel out possible causes for your problem. Mmh, it's getting tricky now. ^^Β°

yeah, sorry but now u see the problem i really dont know why it smears... i also wait hours after doing the lines before i start with colouring...

You don't make it any easier, do you? The only advice I could offer you now is to go over the inked lines with a rubber carefully and erase some excess colour before you start to colour. That's one thing I always do on my pictures, before I colour, I always go over the outlines with my rubber, which does lighten the outlines slightly, but I am sure that the smudging risk is close to nil. ^_~

Markers in general take some time to get used to, but as long as you have fun with them it shouldn't matter. Nowadays there are so many tutorials on markers around, that it's easier to get tips from various sources then from when I started with them. XD~
