Description In The Evening

I couldn\'t sleep, to damn hot, so I figured I would get up and process some of the shots I took last night at Washington Park in Denver of the sunset. This is one of those shots. Quite a gorgeous evening last night, a lot of people out, heck even had a Bagpipe band. I would have stayed longer if I hadn\'t been sick lol Thoughts welcomed and print to come!

Shot info:

Thanks! Well I left the road on for contrast sake, and also because, well, the composition really shifted pretty hard when I cropped it out. It looked kinda strange

Beautiful work John... how long does it take to do a HDR image? You take seperate photos to expose for the sky and foreground and then combine? Works well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kkart In reply to Argent47 [2007-07-26 11:42:19 +0000 UTC]

It can be fast and sometimes slow. Depends on how many shots ya bracketed. Mine are usually single shot HDR or 3 exposures, add in just maybe a few extra minutes for a bracket. The single shots----including Photomatix processing of the full photo, prolly 15 mins is all

Just reading the comment by *dEivIDmx , and I agree that the saturation makes it look 'unnatural', but imo it is the surreal aspect that makes it so appealing.

It is difficult to believe it's natural considering the disparity between the sky and it's reflection.

It is a beautiful shot.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kkart In reply to shadowedhalo [2007-07-26 12:55:40 +0000 UTC]

HDR does a lot, just google it! It brings out the tone which the camera captures but never the depth, HDR helps that

I wish the clouds over here would finally form into shapes like that. Currently, they are blobs of humidity.

I do love the sharpness and colors of this shot, though.
