Description
I just saw a screenshot of Heart Gold and I thought: Would it be possible to load a full 3D map with the bitmap functions I developed a time ago?Just want to upload this because I really enjoyed to see how the dll is capable to load even a 3D map to RPG Maker XP without frame dropping, also wants to thanks mikelan98 for the model ripping

How many 3D models would you be able to load into one map without lagging? Or is there a maximum?

That's depends, my computer can handle about 10 or 11 big models but every computer is different

So how would you go about importing graphics into this in RPG Maker? I can't imagine the normal tilesets would work.Β

At least for now this is just a system that allow the scripters to load 3d models into their projects
It's possible to re-work the tile system to work with models but not my priority right now

As this is a 3D model viewer, do you think it's possible to have a walkable 3D map?Β
π: 0 β©: 1
KleinStudio In reply to Deorro [2016-04-30 14:08:21 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's not exactly a 3D model viewer, the dll allows you to load 3d models scripting so it's 100% possible to remake the Game_Map/Spriteset script and allow 3D tiles

Well you only need the models to do it, with the Spiky's DS Map Editor is easy to extract them

hey! thats actually a pretty good thing. the question is... how standable will this be for game making in term of fps and other things?

KleinStudio In reply to shiney570 [2016-04-28 15:34:58 +0000 UTC]
It's working at 60fps without frame drops, don't know how it will work in Essentials and rendering multiple things but I'm gonna test that soon

good luck with editing the game map and game events. maybe a look at the NMode7 script helps.

KleinStudio In reply to shiney570 [2016-04-28 16:56:06 +0000 UTC]
No no, this is only a test of loading a model of the map, I'm not planning for now to make the game map in 3D but it should be easy to do making the characters being rendering in the dll too
Also, don't know how NMode7 worked but Mode 7 is just an effect to simulate 3D, not real 3D rendering

shiney570 In reply to KleinStudio [2016-04-28 16:59:40 +0000 UTC]
oh i thought you are trying to make this work as a game map. i know that mode7 (/nmode7) is just a fake 3d but since events are 2d you could need that stuff from mode7. but since you are not trying to do that i guess it's not necessary.

I don't know, this is already working very very well but since the release of the dll is a big thing I don't want it to have problems.
I don't have any project in RPGXP so all my things are public

Nice man, I've toyed with this idea before. I was never able to fully pull it off, but I thought it would be sweet. It would be a new game experience and new and immersive features would come out. Nice going!! I'd love to chat sometime and pick your brain! Regards.

That would cool. I am very interested on how the models were imported and how RMXP / Essentials behaves with them. By the looks of it it is behaving pretty well.

KleinStudio In reply to AlexVonD [2016-04-28 11:18:33 +0000 UTC]
It's very easy, RPGXP doesn't do anything, the dll render everything the RPGXP asks in the script, like the V1

What script? The mystery gift one was included in the Essentials BW
π: 0 β©: 1
WonderFairySkymancer In reply to KleinStudio [2016-04-28 20:34:28 +0000 UTC]
But it requires the dual screen. I don't have a dual screen and I like to have a password mystery gift on a single screen.

KleinStudio In reply to WonderFairySkymancer [2016-04-28 20:47:36 +0000 UTC]
Then you need to learn how to script and port the script from the Essentials BW to Essentials, I have not a single screen version
