Harpers POV

It had rained all night and was windy and cold, I grabbed Vegas from his stall and decided to work him in the arena, I had been able to get a saddle on him and tighten the girth without a problem. However I had yet to actually get on him, so I tacked him up and lunged him for a while. Then I stopped him and walked him around for a few. Making sure he got most of his energy out before I mounted him, after a while I lined him up to the mounting block and tried putting some pressure on his saddle. He seemed a little unsure at first so I took it slow and reassured him the whole time.
I took a deep breath, and put my foot in the stirrup and flung my other leg over the saddle. He let out a sigh and relaxed, I leaned down and gave him a hug
“There we go, good boy Vegas” I told him praising him.
I nudged him and he took the queue and started walking, I took it easy on him and was light on the reins.
After a while it started drizzling.
I walked Vegas over to the gate then dismounted him.
I stroked his forelock then kissed him on the head
“Good job Buddy” I told him then led him out of the arena and into the barn.
I tied him to the cross ties as I untacked him.

Alden came walking out of the staff room,
“Congratulations you two!” He said excitedly then gave me a high five.
“You watched didn’t you?” I asked him laughing,
“I did, guilty” he replied putting his hands above his head. I laughed.

I untacked Vegas and put him in his stall,
“Hey, Harp?” Alden asked as he peaked out of the staff room,
“Yea?” I asked looking at him,
“Do you have a second?” he asked before disappearing back into the staff room, I followed. I opened the door and there layed a dog as soon as it saw us it got up and greeted us wagging its tail. I just looked at Alden in awe
“Hi!” I said and started petting the dog, it looked as if it never had a bath and had some mud on it.
“One of my staff workers found her in the road this morning on her way here, and couldn’t leave her” Alden said
“I don’t know what to do with her so she’ll stay here until we can get her to a vet make sure she’s got her shots and see if she belongs to anyone” he added
“Aww poor baby, wonder what her name is” I said as she licked my face
“I’ve wondered the same, I started calling her Khaleesi she seems to respond to it” he said
“That’s cute it matches her, she needs a bath though” I said as I stood up.
“Ok so what if she goes to the vet and there’s no microchip? What happens to her then?” I asked
“I don’t know” he replied looking at me, I raised my eyebrows at him
“Harper no, I already know where this is going” he said
“Oh cmon Alden, look at her” she said in front of both of us with a huge doggy smile on her face, he gave me a look.
“I’m not getting too attached until she goes to the vet” he said as he poured her some water into a bowl
“ok well good luck with that” I said as she jumped on him licking his face. He laughed “Your impossible” he said, I laughed too “I’ll see you tomorrow” I said with a smile “Alright Goodnight” he said “Goodnight” I replied and closed the door.
