Nice tutorial...but I have one question...and it's what you do AFTER you finish it?
Is there some special trick with not smearing because I noticed that you used 2B and 4B lead...which is notorious for smearing afterwards. Do you use a fixative or an alternative, afterwards? I've always considered fixatives...but they're...umm...carcinogens. Eek! @ the thought of cancer.

what interests me is the fact that you keep the paper nice clean and white while keeping the image in a nice box. i never keep my paper clean, by the time I'm done drawing the paper is Grey

You don't have any idea about how this helps ^^ I was always wandering what types of pencils u used and what things you made. Now I see it is really "simple" but damn difficult to master. Thank you very much again for this ^^ so again the key you would say it's patience?

Yep u would definitely need a lot of patience, cos when things dun go the way u want it to, u have to hang in there ^^

This is wonderful.I'm so happy to find an experienced artist that says it's ok to take up to 3 hours on a line drawing.

It's interesting to see the drawing techniques of different people ^_^ I probably draw my pieces like you do (in the sense that you seem to work on one area at a time before going on to another)
Although this will be very helpful, so thank you (seeing how I am going to try and resurrect my pencil techniques)

I have such issues with shading, I never really think to shade the face, just the shadows on the face. And putting your hand on a separate piece of paper to keep the page clean is an idea no one ever informed me of. That would really keep my page and my hands clean! Thanks for the tips ^^
