Would be better than Weeble maybe, we'll see, but you messed up the name. Edward was his first name, and Newgate was his family name. Weeble just got it wrong because he's an idiot, so he assumed "Edward" was the family name.

Hi! For telling the truth - I wasn't sure about the name of the family.
First, I was thinking it was Newgate too! Because we normally use Edward as a first name.
But with this new chapter, I checked and I changed the name of my OC for Edward...
In the jap scan it's writing in katakana "Edward Weeble" and not "Newgate Weeble".
And well... "almost" (because I didn't check everyone) all the characters are mentioned like this: Family name + First Name
Like Donquixote Doflamingo, Monkey D Luffy, Portgas D Ace, Roronoa Zoro, Trafalgar Law, Edward Newgate, ...
Maybe I am wrong... because it sounds really strange (i know), but I am almost sure! ^^
Afterall, One Piece it's Japanese and you can found a lot of strange names!
...
Or yes... maybe it's for accentuate his stupidity (and mine with)! XD

There is also something to consider in that people from the South blue usually have different more western name styles for instance Franky who is from the south blue has the given name Cutty and the surname flam or so I've heard. Though the fact he is always called Cutty Flam fully every time by anyone who calls him this makes it hard to dicern.
So it is possible they could use english name pronunciation with certain regions or kingdoms and since we have no idea where Whitebeard is from that makes it difficult to figure out. Furthermore we do not known Edward Weevil's mothers full name if we did we could obviously tell if he is technically a real Jr. or not namewise DNA wise though I think his mother is lying and he is really Jack's son the resemblence is striking and its odd they revealed him around the same time as Jack.

Yeah, I was thinking it was just him being thick and presuming Edward was the family name and therefore his surname. Little touch you know? Like some One Piece names can be japanese order, some others can be western order.
How tall is she supposed to be? I know Luffy is like 5'8" and Whitebeard is like 22 foot tall?
