Have you ever wondered how falling stars are born?
Well, now you know.
I've tried to make something more dynamic, less static. A girl walking through the clouds and cutting off stars on her way, with a whole damn lot of wind.
I've also tried to work with colours I rarely use, blues. And tried to darken my shades, but it's hard - I'm starting to believe it's my watercolour that isn't pigmented enough. I'll buy a few new colours and see whether it's a problem with me or my paint.
Anyway, I must say I like this one enormously for some reason. She seems so happy. I've wanted to draw this picture for a long while, and it came out differently from what I expected, but in a good way for once.
The body is extremely elongated and exagerratedly slim on purpose. I like drawing those bodies.
The pose does look quite stiif and unnatural... but hey, so would you if you were walking on those things.
I hope you will like it.
[Made with Staedtler pigment liners, watercolours, liquid frisket, Tria markers, colour pencils, white paint.]

Beautiful. I have to tell you that your work reminds me of another artist here. Her name is !Pui-Mun I think you'd like her work.
This is excellent and I just wanted to wish you good luck with future projects.
I think I may have put in the link wrong, so here is her main site, [link]
Peace and much love

I think you mean ~puimun ?
I'm not hugely familiar with her work, I just started watching her recently, but her work is utterly amazing. The things she does with watercolours... @_@

That's the one! Thankyou
I found her work in an art book and I fell in love with it. It's like you can go into some other place and not have it be tainted with problems from the outside world. I hear ya about the water colors... that's the brilliance of her work I think... Not that I'm dissing any other rendering mediums...
BTW: the name of the art book I found her in is called The Art of Fairy by Christopher Riche and Brian Froud. (I think... )
Peace and much love

try different perspectives...like foreshortening. that would be more dynamic....but you really really have great consepts and style. and you have good idea of anatomy and details. it would look great.
love this by the way....great idea.

The nicest, most vivid, most beautifully pigmented watercolors are Maimeriblu by Maimeri. [link]
They are expensive, but I get by on the three primaries: Primary blue-Cyan, primary red-magenta and primary yellow, plus neutral tint which is like a dark grey blue and darkens a color, without making mud.
Either way, lovely art you have made, and you succeeded in making it dynamic.

You're welcome...you're going to love them. I just used them to render a painting with realistically colored citrus, and various rainbow colored elements...using only those three colors.
