Description
The Inkdrops Project is an exercise I am carrying out at the moment - one drawing a day in less than an hour, using indian ink.Daily-ish updates on my Tumblr and Facebook ; weekly recaps here on DA.
I am afraid that the past couple of weeks have been very work-intense and I have very little time to draw at all (I came back home late almost everyday!).
I managed to squeeze this three small inkies though!
Enjoy!

It amazes me how beautiful these are for how little time you have and how busy you are.Β

Thanks! I really need to make more time for these though, I have been slacking quite a lot for the past few weeks!

I saw the video and that is really awesome! I'm working on my inking skills, but I'm not very good yet.

I'm in love with the one on the top left! I was wonder, though, what tool did you use to draw these? I can never get this kind of detail with my India Ink when I use my dip pen.Β

Thank you!
I use pigment liners for details (mostly Unipin) and a refillable brush pen for larger areas. I *think* it is possible to get this kind of details with very fine dip nibs, but I don't really like using them (too messy for my taste!).

Thank you! That clears up so much because I'm just staring at my dip pen and india ink well going "How does she do that?!" I'm going to need to get some new microns soon. Thank you and again, amazing work! I love it so much.

Ahah actually I feel like I am slacking these days... how some people manage to keep a daily sketchbook, I will never know!

You HAVE to take a day off now and again ... gotta re-charge the batteries.

Yes, I guess you're right - but then it is so easy to let it slip by and stop drawing for days and days...!

I'm really enjoying your work on this inkdrops project - I adore the detail in your fully finished paintings but the simplicity in these, the way you balance the contrast of the black and white areas is really beautiful. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks!
I am quite surprised (in a good way!) by the reception that this project is having, to be honest, as I was expecting more disappointment and requests for my "usual style". It's a good exercise for me, especially for composition and placement of dark/light areas, which have never been my strong points. Hopefully this will translate in my full-colour pictures as well.
