Description
*Performs short victory dance...*FINALLY plucked up the courage to tackle the art of cell shading.
Credit & thanks goes to Tom Fischbach of TwoKinds for letting me practice on his line art - as with the last two practice submissions, I've simply done the colouring.
Think I've gotten to grips with the base colouring but I still have much to learn about different shading techniques and further tons of practice to make them work effectively in my own hands.
Still - I'm forever confident.
The shading on this piece was made possible by my newly acquired Bamboo graphics tablet which means all credit for the shading gets split between whatever vestigial talent I might have... and Wacom!
My next submission will be all my own work as I now have access to a scanner - hooray for me!!! ^_^
-Queezle-
P.S. Any tips on cell shading and what I should do to improve on the above other than more & more practice is always appreciated.

No I don't think so... at least not with a tail like that.
Not sure to be honest

If it's a line art...minus the stripes, it looks like a Keidren

I agree with RangerHorse. I think you're doing a good job on coloring so far. Like she/he said, try adding extra tones and not just one color of shadow.
I like the transition you're using for the different colors of fur. Especially good shading on the pads. You can really see the contours. I'd suggest maybe putting more shadows from the bangs. Overall very nice.

I can't wait to see what your own works of art look like
I think you did a very nice job of shading on this, honestly Remember that shading doesnt have to just be one solid color, it gets darker the farther away from the light source it is.
Im looking forward to your next submission

hehehe my own work is terrible in comarison, don't wanna big it up too much.
Never drawn in this style before (anime) so am learning from scratch.
Before now I'd shy away from drawing people & animals, dunno why really - if I'd have to guess I'd say I'm heavy on sensing perspective which features much more in inanimate objects / landscapes.
Still, can prob put some of those up as well I guess >.<
