He still looks too female! And I assure you, you could at least add face details that would make it clear...

In my opinion it's not too smart, audience is like that, they like to have things clear. Personally, I don't like it that I can not tell any difference between characters you draw except for the color, it makes them all look the same. You don't add features such as longer/shorter hair, you just draw them all the same. And all in all it's not good nor healthy. It makes your gallery look boring, it's filled with characters who are technically the same. But if it floats your boat...then go ahead I guess.

well, it helps that my anthros are more animal like than human, plus the fact that all my characters are pretty androgynous. Most people cannot effectively identify the gender of my characters, but I like that, because that adds to their cuteness factor.

Indeed it does. Cuz, to be honest, had you not said in the description that it was a male, I would've figured it was a young girl. xP Heh, someone knows what they're doing, it seems. If only I did.

Yeah, the not having breasts thing on my females really throws a lot of people off too.

I bet it does!
But, hey, that's better than what I USUALLY see on here. I'm accustomed to finding women with breasts fourteen times too big for them. I have to admit, I like the uniqueness of the direction you're taking. It's getting... actually kind of annoying seeing the oversized milk jugs every time I see a female character on DA. To quote Nick on truTV's World's Dumbest, "That's what makes them beautiful. Some are big, some are small, that's what makes things fun." You keep up the good work!

well, I used to draw breasts on females, a long time ago, but that is mainly because i didnt know any better, and never really thought about it, because i never saw breastless anthro females. However even when I did draw them, i never went for any big ones, mainly because I was rather poor at drawing them. I mostly stopped drawing them, mainly because they where difficult to draw, and since human are the only animal species with breasts, and my anthros where part animal, I figured I could just start doing without them. It was around that time as well, that I decided t stop using unnatural colors for fur and hair, such as green, blue and purple, etc.
I have actually gotten to the point of generally ignoring artwork that contains oversized breasts, regardless of quality. Normal size doesnt bother me though.

I see. Spectacular, I must say. Not the "bad at drawing breasts" part, of course, but you make a good point. I try to keep my anthro characters within similar limits - of course, if I stray, I explain that it is, in fact, unnatural. Like, in the story I'm doing right now, none of my characters have strangely unnatural hair/fur color, and the only chick with larger-than-normal breasts has them because she's... well, she's in the adult film industry, so they're augmented. But, seriously, since when did a woman have size Double-Q breasts naturally? And even if they DID, they'd have some major back problems, which no one ever seems to take into account, unless they've seen SuperBad. >_>

There was one real life person who got all the way up to N size, naturally. Unfortunately they sagged so bad they sank almost past her waistline. Apparently people dont seem to realize boobs are subject to gravity.
But this is also painfully common in animation as well. Especially western superhero comics. Just about every superheroine has at least D- size. Its pretty prevalent in japanese anime's too, but they at least occasionally avert it.

Oh, yeah, gravity is DEFINITELY a factor.
And yeah, it used to be a lot more prevalent in Japanime, but a lot of newer artists are trying not to do that anymore. A good example is the authorartist for Beast Master, Kyousuke Motomi. She actually notes in a mini-bio that most of her heroines tend to be flat chested. Yuiko from Beast Master "barely fills an A cup."

I am starting to miss classic american 2d animation though. These days every studio out there only seems to want to produce 3D cgi.

Oh, I agree. And the ones still doing 2D are doing a shitty job, or ruining the name of a classic. Like that new Looney Toons Show. That is total bull. Just gimme the old-fashioned Bugs Bunny, please.

Japanese anime studions like studio ghibli seem to be the only ones still doing good anymore. In fact I dont even recall a bad studio ghibli film

Really? I'm... not one hundred percent certain I've heard of Ghibli. I usually don't focus on the company making the film as much as the film itself.

Studio ghibli is the company that made the movies, spirited away, castle in the sky, Princess mononoke, kiki's delivery service, howls moving castle, and a bunch more. But so far, I havent seen one that seemed bad.

well the japanese anime industry as a whole is doing a lot better in 2d animation than the american one is. But partly is because japan never made the mistake of making their animation with a largely kid audience in mind. The american animation studios made the big mistake of making many of their animations aimed for a kid audience. And the belief that adults dont watch cartoons circulated for quite some time. this has been reduced a lot in recent years, but the damage is done. For american traditional animation to return, someone is going to have to make something that ends up being hugely succesful, to show the industry that traditional animation can still be profitable.
This is one of my goals. that is why i am drawing a lot right now. I am practicing so i can develop a strong comic series based off my characters. I do have some classic themes going, but I also have themes going that are very new as well. Intially i am starting off as a webcomic, because unfortunately I dont know any publishers, and i dont have the resources to publish. Plus i can work on developing my skill writing the initial comic series, and it gives me a chance to develope some of a fanbase, before i start publishing the later series. My intent is to make multiple series based on the same universe, With the first two being webcomics. If the series becomes strong enough, it could actually turn into an animated series, but i would like for it to be more traditionally animated instead of CGI. its going to be a long road ahead, but I think I can pull it off.

o.o Right on, right on! That sounds absolutely amazing, and you know what? I've got your back. If there's any kind of help I can give you along the road, you let me know, and I'll do my best to assist! We could use someone with a little ambition, and not these money-hungry big shot executives they have around nowadays.

Its not just the animation industry that is run by money hungry CEO,s. Just about every big corporation out there is infected badly. Hence a lot of the problems we have today.

Yup. Agreed. But, the animation industry - something that everybody is influenced by, directly or indirectly - is definitely a good start.
